Getting in Shape

When to start working out?

I just put a partical deposit on a dress for it to be ordered. The dress in a size 6 fits like a glove. I want to look tone and make sure I look the same way if not better for my wedding/honeymoon. FI and I are planning to work out alil more once our crazy work scheduales slow down. How far in advance did you start working out? We plan to do a small work out and then really push it closer. Is that a good idea or should we push it from the beginning? We have a year and 2 months till our wedding.

  • My thoughts:  why wouldn't you want to start looking and feeling your best now?
  • ASAP. I started going to the gym a year and one month b4 my wedding (its in Aug) but the sooner the better

    This.

While the wedding was a little extra motivation, I've been working out my entire life, and I continue to work out now, almost a year after my wedding.

  • Working out also makes you feel great and is very healthy for your body... so I say start now!

  • Push it from the beginning.  You don't know how quickly your body will react to the changes, and you don't want to end up finding out that you didn't leave enough time when it's too late.

  • Working out is for life-long fitness... it sounds like you want to push it as you get closer to the wedding.. which tells me that the moment the wedding is over you will slip back into your old ways and gain that weight right back (or lose that muscle).
Start now. Build on it slowly. Good habits are hard to form, take a lot of time, but then you have them for life.
  • You should start going now.  I love how I fee after working out.
