What is the avg cost of a dj

Hello everyone, long time reader first time poster.  The future Mrs. and myself recently checked out two dj companies.  They seem very professional but quite a bit expensive.  Curious to see what the average is for dj, lighting, and subwoofer like packages.

I'd say average is somewhere around $1200, but there are plenty of options above and below that price point.

We're paying $1500. From my research, that was pretty standard around the burbs.

Ours is $1195 - that includes a gobo of our monogram and the subwoofers.

When we were looking, a DJ was around $900-$1400 and bands were substantially higher.

My DJ is about $1600.00 but that is for ceremony, reception and some additional things.

Mine is $795, but that is just for a Sunday afternoon reception.  When I was doing my research, it looked like $1200 was the norm.

mine is $900 for the cocktail hour and the reception for a total of 7 hours.  i found him in the burbs but my receiption is in the city.  he had a great selection of songs plus access to napster (legally, of course).  he also was very organized and had this whole document for us to fill out listing out all the important events we needed a song for.  let me know if you'd like his info

Our DJ is $795 and we got a free upgrade to their top package which include some uplights, which I think was great. Our DJ is Tim from Answer Back Entertainment.

Ours is around $700 for the ceremony and reception.  And we're having music for dinner and dancing in separate rooms without any extra charge.  We haven't had the wedding yet, but all of our interactions have been super professional.

Ours is 1200, for ceremony and reception. He told me when we met the time he is giving me is unlimited that day, and we will have them for 7-8 holurs and he is bringing 2 sound systems, one for the ceremony and one for the reception.

He is providing the BOGO (our name in lights) for free. They had an online planning tool in which you can choose all your songs for every "weddding event" prelude, interlude, recessional, cocktail hour, etc. We are using Music by Design and they have been great so far.
