100 days

So, tomorrow is 100 days before our wedding, and I'm a bit bummed out. Not because of the wedding, but because tomorrow is the day they are rebuilding my ankle. They are repairing or replacing all the ligaments in my ankle, and I have to go back on crutches for another 3 months (I already did 3 months for the broken leg, pelvis, and 2 knee surgeries).

The surgeon is hoping I can push the recovery curve and that I'll be able to walk down the aisle, instead of crutching down it. My mom is pretty stressed that I'll still be on crutches, and so, I have become more stressed about it as a result. I'm not freaking out or anything, just kind of bummed.

So, if you read this, and think about it in the morning, I wouldn't mind at all if you send good thoughts out, to help guide the surgeons hand. Its the orthopedic center of the rockies, so at least it's not some hack, and they did the two knee surgeries, so they know me. But still... yeah. Thanks for listening.

Oh man, although my injury doesn't compare to yours I really sympathize because I broke my foot badly 4 months ago and just got out of 2 months in an air boot, after 2 months on crutches. Now I'm in special orthopedic shoes and not 100%, which is getting me down (my wedding is in August).

Do you have someone walking you down the aisle? I plan to cling to my dad and making him help me.

Also, I recently started Pilates focusing on arms (90% sitting down), it's helped my mood a lot after having to be so stationary.

I'm so sorry, I understand.

Good vibes coming your way! I hope you heal quickly and can walk down the aisle, but if the worst to happen on your wedding day is a pair of crutches, it will still be a GREAT DAY! Hang in there!

I've got you in my thoughts. I just want to let you know, though, that even if you crutch it down the aisle, you'll be so caught up in the moment and overwhelmed with so many other emotions, you'll look back and say that it wasn't that big of a deal.

So many other things will be going through your mind and in your heart, that you may forget you're on crutches.

I'm not trying to unjustify your worries about it, but rather, help you see that even if you need to crutches down the aisle, it might not be as bad as you're imagining right now.

I'm thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way.

I hope it works out for you. My dentist and periodontist SWORE that I'd be able to complete my dental implant process before the wedding. WRONG. I'm gonna have a gaping hole in my maw for the wedding day. It won't be noticeable in pictures unless I have my mouth open really wide, but it pisses me off nontheless.
