no excuses!!!

hey guys -
so piggybacking off of the biggest loser theme this year i thought i would ask everyone what is the biggest or most frequent excuses you make to sabotage your efforts and what can or do you do to get rid of the excuse?
mine is that "im stressed" so carbs magically fly into my mouth. i am telling myself that stress is no excuses and that when i eat crap it is a choice i am making knowing i will feel terrible the next day. i gave in today and i know i will feel gross tomorrow but i have gotten rid of the EXCUSE.. "i already messed up.." yes i did but i can choose to get back on track immediately and continue losing weight or i can choose to conitnue eating crap and feel bad about myself..

i was wondering if you guys had any examples? maybe every time we want to make an excuse we can post on here before we act on the rationalization?

  • The most frequent excuse I use is "i'm PMSing".  its a really hard one to ignore!
  • Eh... I don't give in when I'm stressed or moody, thankfully. 
    Mine is definitely "it's friday.. that's our wineand pizza night.." or lately we have been travelling a lot so it's been more of a "we may never get to come back here again so I want to really taste the food of the place"
    I'm good about making the "better" choices when out at restaurants though... I definitely think it's the pizza.. It's the one refined grain I haven't cut from my diet just yet.. haha
  • yea PMSing was used this week and then i rationalized pizza... back on track today though! worked out and had a smoothie for lunch and oatmeal for breakfast :)

  • My excuse is usually "i have too much to do" so I don't have time for exercise. I also sometimes choose to hang out with friends instead of exercising, but there's a fine line between leading a healthy life and letting exercise consume you to the point of not HAVING a life. Trying to maintain that balance :)
