Photography Rec's for the 'Burbs

I'd love to hear your recommendations for photographers. I'm getting married in Bloomingdale, May 2012. We haven't really started looking at photographers yet, so I'm not sure what our budget will be. I was hoping for 1500-2000, but not sure if that is sufficient. Would love your suggestions! Thanks!

    I'm not sure how far she travels but Kathleen Thame is my photog and she's in your price range! We just had our engagement photos and they're awesome! Plus she was amazing to work with...totally fun, laid back, and personable!

    I'm not sure how far they travel either, but definitely worth checking out Jolie Images. They are well within your price range, their work is amazing, and the staff is super duper nice. Their office is in Wheeling. We had our engagement shoot last week and our photog Shanie was awesome!

    Ditto Kathleen Thame! She should be in your price range. She was the "red carpet" (cocktail hour) photographer at my wedding and did an awesome job!

    We worked with Kara Schultz for our wedding day and she's based out of Woodstock, but her office was in Geneva.  We got married in Winnetka, so she was definitely willing to travel!  She was super easy to work with and our photos turned out great!  Good luck!  :)

    I also reccomend JolieImages.  We had our engagement session yesterday and Shanie was so awesome.  The packages are great and so are the prices.  We booked with them for our wedding.  www.jolieimages.com they are worth checking out to see how far they will travel.

    Our photographer is Deonna Caruso and we love her! She's super nice and makes you feel comfortable right away. She is just a little over the $2,000 that you specified but (at least the packages list she sent us) it includes 10 hours, 2 photographers, and unlimited locations. Our good friends are using her too and they just did their engagment pics which turned out great.

    Thank you so much for the recommendations! Although a lot of the photographers are close to our price range, I think I will set aside more of our budget for photos. Definitely something I don't want to skimp on!

    You should check out DW Johnson.  They have an awesome artistic eye, their bread and butter is other work besides weddings.  I know someone people are like no don't go with someone like that but I went to high school with one of the photographers and she has done numerous friends of mine weddings.  Also another one of the photographers has done weddings of daughters' of ladies my mom works with, if that makes sense haha. 

    They are a bit pricey but I really had them scale back the package to full day and rights to finished images and it was a little less than $2,500.  I know that's a lot for not much package but in my opinion I'm not going to pay a couple hundred for a book we'll look at maybe once a year.  I'm planning on doing a nice cheap book through like snapfish or something.  Seriously check out their work it's beautiful and I think it's totally going to be worth it!
