Maps needed?

Is it necessary to include directions in the wedding invitations if the ceremony and reception are in the same location? I have directions on my wedpage already...

I would provide directions to where both events are being held, if its one place then you only have to do 1 map and/or directions. I thought online was suffient for our guests but my mom wanted them printed as well. If I'm an OOT guest I appreciate an insert I can take with me in the car. ;)

Thanks for asking this question...I've been debating as well. I think I may for go the map, and just write out directions from the North, South, East and West to include in my invites.

I think it partly depends on how many OOT guests you have and how difficult a place it is to get to.  10 OOTs and it's located right off of 94.  Not necessary.  120 OOTs and on a backstreet out in Roseville.  Yes.  One map would be fine.

I think I would just include a little map of where it is located with the Address to the place.  These days most people are responsible enough to mapquest it or they have a GPS.  But a little map can sometimes show people where things are that are around your location in case they get a teeny bit lost :)

I agree that a little map with a general location would be nice. Most people have a gps either in their cars or on their phones, or would get directions beforehand.

in the age of GPS and google maps, I don't think its necessary. Including an address and directions on the website is plenty. Plus the cost of getting the map designed and printed is really high!

Not so!  I made my own map following these instructions, and it turned out really well.  And free.  We printed our own invites, so this was just an additional card to include.

    Ditto HK.

We had quite a few OOTers and we were at PEC.  Pretty easy to get to the area, but it's right by the mess on campus by the new stadium, so we did maps.

It took me about 1.5 hours to make, including selecting little graphics to use as icons, gathering addresses, and fitting it to size for my brochure.  The steps were really easy to follow.  If you get stuck on yours, I'd be happy to help.  Just page or PM me.
