HELP! I need to find a some-what formal venue that will allow a chihuahua ringbearer in Iowa

Hello everyone!
 
I am very new to this- I have just been engaged two weeks today!

So here's the scoop: My fiance, Sgt. in the National Guard, just deployed last  Sunday and has two wishes about the wedding I really want to make work!
1. He wants to wear his Dress Uniform to the wedding. I keep getting confused about which one this is but apparently it is for formal to very formal occasions.
2. He wants his 5 lb chihuahua, Fry, to be our ringbearer.

I have never seen a more adorable pair than Fry and Matt. I really want to make this work for him.

My mission is to find a venue that will suite both of these desires before he comes back from Afghanistan. We want to do the ceremony in Iowa, preferably in the Des Moines area.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences they could share?

Oh and the wedding will not be until Spring or Summer of 2012 so luckily we have some time!

    honestly - just find some venues that you are interested in and ask if they permit that. explain that it would be for the ceremony only and you would obviously have someone looking after the dog and cleaning up should it be necessary.

    I agree with PP, if you have it outside some places are more flexible on pets. Maybe try some golf courses, most are very elegant, and your FI would look great with his dress uniform.
