Hello,
FI and I are trying to find a church for our wedding in October.  Is anyone familiar with the Foundry United Methodist Church or All Souls Unitarian?

The church should be able to accomodate approx 175 guests.

I believe when I checked with Foundry they said they were in the middle of revising their marriage policies so they weren't able to give me info at the time, I never checked back because I ended up going with the Universalist National Memorial Church - the sanctuary is beautiful and they are very laid back about who gets married there, as well as who officiates the service (you can bring your own officiant).  I am not sure about all souls I dont think I checked there.  Definitely check out UNMC if you havent already, I believe the sanctuary can accomodate 400, but it doesnt look huge if you have a smaller group, we will be having 100.  Hope this helps and good luck!!

    Linds,
Thanks for your reply, I was hoping I would hear from someone using UNMC as well!  We are considering UNMC too.  In fact, it is the only one we have visited so far.   Our reception is going to be held at the Carnegie, so we would like to find something in the neighborhood if possible.

There is a beautiful Gothic Church on 16th Street not many blocks up from the White house.  Church of the Holy City.  A beautiful santuary with Tiffany Stain Glass Windows.    They are Non Denominational  and have lots of room.   I have attended many events there( They have philosophic discussions).   You can go to there website and obtain their telephone number.  The Church of the Holy City is a Swedenborgian Church, services are christian.  Swedenborg was a philosopher who wrote books on Love.  Their santuary is called the Wedding Chapel.    See website:  http://www.swedenborgcenter.org I know two people there,
    Elfa and James.
