I was married at Sweetwater Branch Inn (married in the garden and reception in the McKenzie Hall (the back of a Victorian house).  Photos and reviews in my married bio.  My photographer and flower lady are also in my reviews.  I used Laura Meffen (I don't have her contact info but another bride on here does) for my make up and she recommended my hair stylist.

Oh, and I should add that Sweetwater has you bring in your own alcohol so it will save you a ton of money.  And they don't accept tips... at all.  It's the little things that help you save a ton of money.

I second Sweetwater.  I am getting married there May 2011.  I was stuck between Sweetwater and the Thomas Center (another beautiful place in Gainesville) but ultimately chose Sweetwater because they do everything!  I'm trying to make wedding planning as stress-free as possible.  Technically they do take tips- in the form of a service charge- which is figured into your total bill- but that's it.

Sweetwater Branch Inn, Thomas Center, Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, there is also a chapel on UF's campus that is gorgeous (can't remember the name), Rustic Manor (right outside of Gainesville towards Newberry), Dudley Farm (also toward Newberry), The Women's Center (we had prom there), Reitz Union (UF campus).

I was born and raised in Gainesville but am not getting married there...I hope this helps.

Another spot that most people don't think of (had a coworker get married there) is the Austin Cary Memorial Forest (Owned and managed by the UF School of Forestry). It is in the middle of the woods (literally) and has a porch that looks out onto a lake. I use the space often for meetings, but I saw it transformed as a wedding space and it is beautiful...

BUT it is not at all an all-inclusive place. You would have to rent out roundtables, linens, etc.

Sweetwater has beautiful grounds, Thomas Center is beautiful (warning, it has a glass ceiling), Baughman Meditation Center (the chapel on UF Campus) is pretty overlooking Lake Alice.

If you need more location suggestions, feel free to ask, I have a long list of about 35 locations I use to hosts meetings and events for work.

    GOOD LUCK!
