I'm so excited!  We went back and forth between the Loews and the BATB and in the end, I just felt better about the offerings at the Ballroom. The staff was warm and inviting, and eager to please, which was not the case with the Loews in my experience. We'll have a few extra steps now, booking shuttles and a room block separate from the venue, but in the end, I think it'll all be worth it. I wish I could live in the Viennese dessert room :)

    Congratulations! Doesn't it feel awesome to have a venue? Once I got that settled, I felt so much better about everything. I'm sure your wedding will be amazing!

    My fiance's mom's coworker's daughter just booked Ballroom at the Ben....you aren't getting married in April of next year by any chance are you onelastpost?

    Better than I could've imagined!! We were very close to booking the Loews, but it never felt right. I'm hoping going with my gut will be a good move, and we're saving a little money going w/ this route, so that will be nice, too!

    Good choice!  We had our work Gala at the Loews and it was gorgeous but parking was a total unexpected pain in the butt for all of our guests.  I'm not sure if a big event was going on the same weekend as our Gala but they did not allow any of our guests park in their parking lot- only guests that were staying overnight in the hotel!  Let me tell you showing up in black tie attire and hunting for parking, than having to walk blocks back to the Leows was really frustrating.  I think it had to do with the Philly Marathon or something but we had no idea our guests couldnt park at the hotel and it was awful.  

    I know thats just one experience but it was a huge deal and something I think we hsould have been fore-warned about!

    That sounds horrible!!  The Loews parking really sucks.  They only offer valet, which is nice and all, but the package price for valet evening parking (not overnight) is $16 + 20% Philly tax + whatever you'd tip. Very expensive. 
    Overnight parking is like $40!!  A ticket would likely be cheaper than that :) We're not sure where we'll have our room block, but that is definitely a deterrent for working w/ the Loews.
