MIL and sFIL are coming over tomorrow.  MIL requested they sleep in the basement bedroom.  It's not a major deal- sheets, some straightening up and moving the bowflex.  It just sucks I'd already gotten the other guest room ready.

The reason they want to sleep down there though?

sFIL wants to watch a Reds game.  MIL is afraid if he watches upstairs he'll turn the volume up too loud and keep the house up.  WTF?  Is he really that much of a child he can't miss one game?  Or know how to listen quietly?

DH told his mom it wasn't going to happen.  They can sleep upstairs.  sFIL can come up when the game is over.

Oh, and I checked the NFL and MLB schedule for 6let's bday party.  It starts at the exact same time as the first Brown's game.  He can spend the party in the basement for all I care.  I'm hiding the remotes for upstairs.

    sFIL can't take a break from sports for a couple of days? He can go online for scores and highlights. Dude needs to put on his big boy underroos and spend time with his family.

    Maybe a little tv would be a good Christmas present!  Yes, these are the annoying ones.  DH and I will sit in their living room playing with 6let while MIL plays farmville, sFIL watches TV too loud, BIL plays on his blackberry, SIL yells at her kids in the other room watching tv.  It's just very different.

    SFIL threw a fit that BIL was getting married during a Brown's game.  I told Dh BIL couldn't win on that.  If it wasn't football there would be some other ball game on.sFIL left the reception early.

    So stick them all in the basement and ignore them.  Sounds ideal.  Much better than them hovering around you.

    i don't understand this behavior at all.  y'all know how much i love tv, but i am capable of turning it off for a little bit to spend time with friends and family. 

    and it's not like the browns care whether he's watching, or listen to the advice he shouts at them.

    meh.  i agree with busy -- lock them in the basement and go about your business.
