XP: Dessy Twist Wrap dress

Has anyone used these for bridesmaid dresses? Can you share your experience if you have? Were they easy to tie? Was the material flattering for all shapes?

We had originally found a dress in the boutique where I got my dress, however I'm now having second thoughts, not to mention I think they're way too expensive ($200! before tax). I did ask all of my girls for their budget individually, and they all gave me pretty much the same answer "Whatever you like best is what we'll get"... kind of infuriating />.< and no matter how hard I tried to get a concrete answer, they kept saying the same thing.

I like the idea of the twist wrap dresses, as I want them to have a dress they can wear again. Not to mention they get 7 dresses in one and they look pretty comfy!! My girls are pretty much on board for whatever I choose, so if you guys have any opinions, I'd love to hear them

(This is the dress we originally chose: http://www.alfredangelobridal.ca/collections/productdisplay.aspx?productID=01cb235d-9d96-41f9-8bae-0305d9b5c928&categoryID=053f22f3-72d9-4a6d-af34-392c45fe8c96&pg=2&colorId1= )

  • Just a thought here....you may want to revisit the cost with your BMs. and consider all the usual expenses......again they may say whatever but think about where the are in life..student, newly graduated.... new job.... new child... or their upcoming wedding....$200.00 is a very expensive dress plus all the others costs they may encounter with the wedding...( travel, giftng, hotel and meals for the weekend and if there is a bachorette weekend)...everyone always thinks that the BM dress will be worn again and most always its not....
  • I think the dresses are super cute, but I agree with kbsomom1, 200 is alot, and I dont think I would want to spend that. A girl I work with just got married, she went to a birdal shop and found the dresses she liked and found this website called www.netbride.com and found there dresses like $60-90 cheaper. All the girls dresses came in great!
  • I think those dresses are great, in theory. But I've only seen picture of them on models, who are probably size 2 and were dressed by professionals. I'm not sure they would work on various body types. Have all of your bms try them on  and then ask their opinions.

I'd also revisit the budget question. Now that the initial excitement of being in your wedding party has worn off a bit, they may have had time to think about expenses. $200 seems a little on the high end for a bm dress.
