Looking for Jarocho or Calypso music for cocktail hour

The title says it all. We would love to have either for the cocktail hour but have had no luck finding any leads. Let me know ladies!

Are you looking for a band or DJ?

I did a Jamaican wedding recently that had a "carribean island fantasy" theme to it (the bride's description, lol!) and she had carribean pan music during cocktail hour with an actual live musician performing the pan music. It was really interesting and sounded amazing. I'm pretty sure that he was budget-friendly. If you are interested, I can find out who he was. Just let me know.

Rebecca, yes please let me know!

Trini, I will have a dj for the reception but during cocktail hour I am hoping for live musicians, steel drums or marimba or jarocho(they are like tropical mariachis). I may even use them for the processional.

I am also looking for some (budget friendly) steel pan musicians for my cocktail hour. Rebbecca, if you could pass that information on to me as well I would really appreciate it! Thanks

    Hi Girls,

The info for the pan musician is as follows:

    Name: Avon Francis
    Phone: 678-446-5787
    Email: avonfrancis@bellsouth.net
    Business Name: Pan-O-Jama Entertainment

Again, I have no affiliation with him. I was just the photographer at the wedding. I did not even get a chance to speak to him but he sounded fantastic and when I saw this post, it made me think of him. Good luck!
