So I'm home for my shower this weekend which I'm hoping is a good time. As I was getting in last night both of my sisters and mom told me that they don't plan on giving us a wedding present at all. I'm not talking about a shower gift, but not even a wedding gift. My fiance and I are paying for the wedding ourselves I feel like that is really rude. On top of it, my one sister keeps talking about the expensive shoes she plans on buying for the wedding. Is there a nice way to say something about this?

    No, I would not say anything about this. Guests are not required to buy you a gift for your wedding. But I do understand why you would be upset that your sister is not getting you a gift, but is planning to buy expensive shoes. We can't tell our  wedding guests how to spend their money.

    I agree with pp's. I would not say anything to them. It was rude of them to tell you they aren't going to give you anything, but maybe you'll be surprised at the shower? I think it's annoying that your sister would say she's not getting you anything and then say she's spending a lot on a pair of shoes. I hope she gets alot of wear out of those shoes!
