I have noticed that we've had quite a few new ladies here and I just wanted to get you guys to introduce yourselves to all of us. Names: Janeen and my DH is Wes.

Wedding Date: May 24, 2009

Location: Sweetwater Branch Inn, Gainesville, Florida

My DH and I were high school sweethearts and dated for 10 years before he proposed. He popped the question at Bob Hope park in Burbank during a picnic lunch (on our 10 year anniversary). It was really sweet and, I think, the perfect proposal.

We were married in Florida last year because that's where we're from and our entire family is still there (and no, we're not Gators, WE"RE NOLES!).

Hi! I introduced myself a couple of weeks ago but I can do it again!

Fi and I dated briefly in high school and a couple of years ago we reconnected again (through Facebook, to be exact!) we dated for a year and a half and just this past Christmas he proposed. Still trying to find a safe date, as Fi is in the Army and need to find a good date that won't interfere with his training and deployment orders. We've settled on 2/12/2011 for now.

I have checked out the Military boards, but the LA board is just so much more fun and is oozing with great ideas and advice! Thanks so far for all the great advice!

FI and I met 8 yrs ago when refresh out of high school we started working at Target. So we were friends for 2yrs until he finally made the move. And we have been together ever since...6 yrs to be exact this May

He proposed Feb '09, he was taking me out to dinner. He said dress casual but nice so I did he proposed in the car pulled out a wooden box and said " WILL YOU GROW OLD WITH ME?" and my response was that's for me? It was sweet and simple but perfect for me

FI and I met 7 years ago! He proposed last April at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Little Tokyo. Our wedding is the same weekend this year as the festival and we're incorporating cherry blossoms into our wedding.

FYI Okami is Japanese for wolf. We have 2 husky/wolf furbabies

Okay FI and I meet on my college campus in 1993! He was there passing our flyers for his fraternity party and I was hanging out with the girls in the quad. We ended up going to the party but not talking - the following week FI was back on my campus again and he tracked me down and asked for my number. We have been together ever since and just celebrated our 16 year anniversary!!
I know it is about time right ?

We are in our thirties and met at a party about 2 years ago. We are soooo happy to have finally met the right person after years of looking.

Location: City Club on Bunker Hill, Downtown Los Angeles

He proposed while we were on vacation this past May in London. He waited until we finally got a little rain (something we enjoy that doesn't happen often in So. Cal) and convinced me to go for a walk. I'm supremely lazy, so that took a bit of convincing, but we ended up on Westminster Bridge, just under Big Ben, and he said something ridiculous like "It's too bad I don't believe in marriage, because this would be such a romantic place to ask you to marry me." There was a little confusion as to whether he meant it or not, but then he got down on one knee (not easy for him) and asked me to be his wife. I said yes, he got up, we kissed, and Big Ben struck midnight.

Couldn't have planned it better myself!

We're getting married on the fifth anniversary of the day I asked him to be my boyfriend.

Hello to all. MyFI and I met in graduate school about 4 1/2 years ago. He proposed on Christmas Eve at my parents' house in Wisconsin. We live in Los Angeles, and are trying to decide on Wisconsin or LA for the wedding location. Neither of us have any family here (he is from Indiana), but this is where we have started a life together. We would like to get married in July or August 2011. Any suggestions on local venues would be apprecited. Thanks!

He proposed on my birthday. Apparently he was supposed to propose in front of my family the next day at a 'Surprise b-day dinner', but couldn't wait another day.

-I've noticed that many of us have been with our FI's for quite some time.

Fi and I have known each other for 5 years. On November 28th, 2009 we went to our favorite mom and pop pizza shop. We ordered our usual pizza (peperoni and mushroom) and hot wings! As we were eating the wings our pizza was brought to us. On the pizza he wrote "Marry Me" I couldn't believe it! He then said a bunch of things that I don't remember because I was in shock! All I remember is at the end he asked me to marry him and to grow old with him. That night was amazing and still a blur!

He always kept tabs on me and when he found out I broke up with my boyfried he came back looking for me and we finally got back together about 5 years ago. He proposed to me June 20th at the college where we met. I couldn't believe he finally asked me to marry him, I was in so much shock I didn't know what to say until he finally said "is that a yes?" Of course I said yes! We couldn't be happier.

JT and I met a 4 years ago at Purdue University in Indiana where we both attended school. I initially thought he liked my college roommate so I tried setting them up. After about 6 months of this not working... he asked ME on a date!

About three years later, he proposed on the beach in Santa Barbara!! Simple, sweet, and thoughtful... just like him!

I've posted on here a couple of times and I have already gotten a lot of great advice and suggestions! I love reading other posts to get ideas and see how other girls are planning their weddings!!! Thanks so much, ladies!

FI and i first met over 7 years ago. We've been together for over 5 years now.
FI proposed a day before our 4 year anniversary at the park we went to on our very first date. I was so irritated that night too haha. first, I was running late for our dinner reservation, then I was all dressed up and realized I had spilled something on my outfit so I ended up just wearing jeans, sandals and a zip up [felt horrible] and then after dinner we went to the park and were walking around and I stepped in a huge puddle of mud [it was dark] after that i told him let's just go home. but he said no, let's just sit so you can relax. So there I was sitting on the park bench, frumpy, muddy and irritated and he just started telling me everything he loves about me. [i thought it was to cheer me up] then he popped the question on bended knee =]

Hello Everyone! Actually I am married already. Next year will be our 10 year anniversary and we want to renew our vows and have an actual wedding because we never had one.

My husband had proposed to me at the Cheesecake Factory in Redondo Beach in front of everyone. I was completely shocked and surprised, but of course I said yes and everyone applauded and I just couldn't believe it. We've been in love ever since and people said it would fade, but I can't believe how strong our love still is. So I wish all of you the best as well.

I am totally lost and clueless though so reading these posts helps me out. Thanks for the info and hopefully I can help in some ways too.

Miles and I met when we were Freshmans in High School. We began dating near then end of that school year and have been together throughout high school and college. Our wedding date is actually our 13 year anniversary!

Before he had "officially" proposed we had decided that it's probably time to get married while we were watching TV and sort of started looking into planning a wedding. About 6 months later, Miles walks into my office singing and playing the guitar. He was playing "This Magic Moment" right before he proposed. It was such a surprise! I was not expecting it at all especially since I had no idea he had learned how to play the guitar behind my back. So here we are...a couple months away from our wedding! =D
