Seamstress

Does anyone have any recommendations for a seamstress in Syracuse other then Mary Golden.  I think I have an appointment with her on Friday but the not calling me back thing is strange...and I dont know how i feel about the smoky smelling house that Bridget mentioned.  I would like a back up if anyone has had good experience elsewhere.

    Dont be bothered by the not calling you back thing. Seriously. Ive made an appt and she had another client that time and she called me back to reschedule. Ive talked with her about it and its just how she does things. Shes been doin it for 30+ years and its always worked for her and well, she does amazing work for little $$.

    And I wouldnt worry about the smoke. Im very intuned to it, but my FSIL said she didnt notice it, and she cant stand the smell. So maybe it was just me (Monica??)

    I am going over there today right after work, so I will let you know about any smell.  I am very annoyed by the smell of smoke on my clothes, so I would definitely pick up on it,  Worst case, I would just have it steamed the day before or something.  No big.

    As far as the phone thing... it's weird and old fashioned, but I have never had any issues with my appointments.  The one time I called to book a time that she had a conflict with, she called me right back wtihin 20 minutes and we set up a different date. 

    For the prices she charges, it is worth giving it a shot first.  If you aren't happy, then look elsewhere, but seriously... she's well worth it!

    Kariann- this is a dead thread.... well over a month old.  Please create a new post or just search through other old posts to find recs.... trying to resurrect a dead thread usually just confuses/annoys people.  There is also a sticky post at the very top w/ recommendations for all diffent types of vendors.

    Also, we kinda like intros on this board, so it's best to start off with a little info about yourself.  Name, wedding date, location, etc etc...

    The CNY board covers a wide area (west from Finger Lakes, Buffalo, Rochester- through Syracuse and east to Albany).... so it's a good idea to specify the area you are looking for as girls from all over frequent this board.
