New Oahu Bride...any recommendations?

Hello fellow brides!
I'm getting married in Oahu on April 21, 2012.
My ceremony is at a church at the north shore and we chose Turtle Bay for the reception..altough I've heard several negative comments about it.  We wanted a "Maui feel" without the price of Maui airfare and Turtle Bay seemed to fitt the bill.
Do you have any recommendations for vendors?  Are thre any vendors that you would sugest avoiding?

Any help is appreciated as I have no clue what  I am doing.

Mahalo!

    Congrats on the engagement!

The only suggestion I have for vendors is a videographer on Oahu. Personal message me for info or take a look at my planning bio.

My wedding will be on Maui, so I'm not familiar with anything else, there, but there are a lot of brides on the board who have had Oahu weddings! I'm sure you'll find their suggestions useful.

    Good luck and happy planning!

    Congratulations!
I am not married yet! But so far, we have booked our photographer, Eric Wehner.  I love his stuff online, his prices are so reasonable and he is such a nice, laid back easy going guy.  So far, I would definitely recommend him!

Considering you have two locations I would suggest a wedding coordinator!   We used Hawaii Weddings and Events, we actually found them on Turtle Bay's vendor list www.hawaiiweddingsandevents.com

    This is who we used:
-We had Kahu Bruce too (if you need a minister) he's awesome!
-Dianna w/ Hawaii Weddings & Events is amazing, she would be great for day of coordination, if that's all you need.
-Gemina w/ Faith & Beauty was great! Did hair & makeup & travels to you. Prices were reasonable I thought.
-A Cake Life, Kristen did our 6" cake & 72 cupcakes...they tasted & looked great!
-Always Flowers, Todd was amazing, & stayed under our budget...flowers were beautiful!!
-Henry Makua on Ukulele, he played our ceremony & did a terrific job! Lovely guy I would recommend him for sure!

Don't think you need food, drink or rentals, but these are the ones we used:
    Highway inn Catering
    Aloha on the Rocks
    Royal Party Rentals

    HTH's, PM me w/ any questions :)
