Officiant Question

My fiance & I have finally aggreed upon an officiant and we were super excited until we found out the price! The officiant is over our budget! Do you think we could try to negotiate with the officiant (he is a Pastor) or would that be kind of inappropriate?

    I don't think it would hurt to ask. You're paying for him, so I feel like you're entitled to that granted  you ask in a non-rude way, like "Is there anything we can do to bring down the price?" If it's too much, I would continue looking around. You have plenty of time and there are millions of officiants out there. Have you looked around in your family? All that is required in Florida is a notary to marry you. My old boss is marrying us for free as a wedding present...so I'd check into that too!

    I agree with pp. We found someone to marry us and she told us the price, but we liked her too much to try for a different price.

    I am paying 350 and didn't want to, but it is what it is.  You can always try to say that your budget only allows so much and see what happens.

    I really like Katherine DeMarco.  She charges $200 - $300, depending whether you want a rehearsal or not and how far she has to travel.

    My officiant charges $150 to $250 depending on how far he has to go. He is located in New Tampa area.
