Wedding Dress- Cleaning and Alterations

Are you aware of any seamstress who provides both alterations and cleaning?

I bought my dress at a sample sale and will need it to be both cleaned and altered.  I would rather have it done by one vendor, rather than two.

For Seattle area vendors:  Who do you recommend for cleaning and/ or alterations?

hmmmm........I got mine at a sample sale too......but hadn't considered needed to get it cleaned......shoot. I wonder if I should do this.....

sorry.....I don't have any recs. My alterations person isn't in Seattle (south king) and I don't think she helps clients who didn't buy their dress from The Brides Outlet.....

    curious about cleaning tho.....

I'd be super careful about cleaning your dress before your wedding unless it's absolutely necessary. I've heard an unfortunate amount of horror stories about dry cleaners ruining wedding dresses. I know the cleaner I go to does wedding dresses, but they are almost everett area... :-/

No idea about cleaning..sorry!  Deb Heeden (Ballard) and Darcy Martin (Lynnwood) have been favorites on here in the past for alterations.  I ditto zoiesmurf about the cleaning concerns though too.  PM me if you need Deb or Darcy's contact information.  I know I have it somewhere.

I know you can take your gown to Nordstrom (even if you didn't purchase it there) and get your alterations done they.  They can also send it out directly for cleaning (though I called and asked and they told me they send all of their wedding dresses to Blue Sky Cleaners, so I suppose you could just take it there directly as well).
