Arizona-Phoenix

Hotel/Resort

I need some suggestions... Please!

We are getting married at Stonebridge Manor and staying in town for the first couple days... I have been looking for a nice hotel/resort that we can stay at for the honeymoon night and the following 2 days. I have looked at a lot of hotels online. I have noticed that the average price at a resort in April in $400-$600 a night. Which my Fiance thinks is not too bad.. I think it is a lot!

I am new to Phoenix, so any suggestions on a nice resort that I could get under $400.00 a night or any suggestions on a great resort worth the price would be much appreciated.

Thanks!!!

I just did a quick search on hotels.com and narrowed it to 5 star only...  A lot are coming up 300-400 but The Boulders Resort is showing up at 20% off for $271/night.  I've never been there but it looks gorgeous!

Since you are booking a little out, specials usually won't be released till you get closer to April if you are booking directly with the hotel. Carefree Resort & Conference Center is very nice and is probably selling under $300 right now. The Buttes, in Tempe, is also under $300. However, Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs is, I believe, selling the best, even lower if you can pay full up-front, and I suggest them over Squaw Peak just because they have a Different Pointe of View with breathtaking views and it's more romantic. However, both are lovely locations for under the $200 price point. All other resorts such as JW Desert Ridge (where I work), Fairmont, Biltmore, InterContinental, etc... will all be over $300 at this time! Hope that helps!

Additionally, The Boulders is very nice if you plan on booking through a 3rd party :) 3rd party such as hotels.com, expedia.com, etc are the only ones with specials at this time since that is their goal. However, you can get a advance purchase discount through the hotel directly at this time which should beat most sites!

I think that's a lot. My wedding is April 30, and my guests and I are staying at the Fort McDowell Resort and Casino near Fountain Hills for $120-$170 a night, depending on which type of rooms we get. However, maybe my resort is cheaper because it's so far north and kind of off the beaten path...

I haven't personally verified this but have heard that the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs is in foreclosure.  Not sure if that's going to have an impact on your stay.  FireSky is a great little resort in Scottsdale near downtown Scottsdale and seems to be running about 250/nite.  Make sure that you check for any special events or conventions that might be running on the weekend that you plan to stay there or at least that the attendees are innocuous.  I have personally seen the property over-run with very noisy, young convention attendees.

    All the best,
