Not Engaged Yet

Is EVERYONE getting engaged right now?!

I currently know seven people (IRL) who are engaged. SEVEN!!! My friend from college, my "half sister" (long story), a cousin on my dad's side, my bf's very good friend, a coworker just got engaged in Aruba last week, my step-sister just got engaged this morning & I can't for the life of me think of the seventh person lol. I feel like everyday I wake up & find out someone else is getting married. I'm so happy for everyone but it's starting to make me feel a little BSC waiting for my own. It's like it's fueling the craziness inside me haha.

Anyone else know a ridiculous amount of people that are/recently got engaged?????

BF & I are both 25, he'll be 26 on Saturday & my bday's next month. I'm starting to realize that this is a "popular" age to get engaged haha

About two years ago when my BF and I first started dating 3 very close friends of mine got engaged and less than 48 hours.  I know the feeling though when you feel like everyone around you is getting engaged.  Especially with facebook I found people I wouldn't ordinarily keep in touch with I do and I find out they are getting engaged, married and having babies.  I found as I have gotten older, it does sometime frustrating,  I have faith it will happen soon enough :-)  Just think of all of us here still waiting :-)

WOW 3 in 48 hours? That's gotta be a record! I think the majority of my high school, mostly everyone that stayed in Delaware for college or started working right out of high school, is pretty much married or engaged & with kids. It's crazy to me but mainly because I can't even imagine.

As soon as I found out my step-sister got engaged this morning I congratulated her & came straight here to post. I knew it was the only place I'd be understood! Thank goodness for all of you :)

Everyone I know seems to get engaged as soon as they graduate college. I'm on the 5 year plan, so a bunch of people I went to highschool with are now putting engagement stuff on facebook because they just graduated. People who graduated from my college too.

I hate to say it, but it makes me less excited for all these people when it just seems like everyone is getting engaged. I think it has humbled me to not expect everyone to jump up and down when I get engaged, whenever that is.

Oddly, I'm really the only one of my friends who is engaged.  I know a few kids from high school who are engaged, a few aquaintances from college who got engaged right after graduation, but that's about it.  FI has more, but he's a few years older.  Still, it seems for both of us that the majority of our friends who are coming to our wedding are single - either not dating anyone or not anywhere near marriage.

I feel your pain.  Now I don't have a ton of people getting engaged but I have been to three weddings this year, two within a week of each other.   I am not old enough to have the people my age getting married but one of my friends from high school just got engaged.  It was really hard for me, I was happy for her but upset that I wasn't at the same time.  It took some talking myself down.  :(

A lot of girls I went to high school with are engaged or married now, some have even started having babies! I guess I'm behind the times. Most of the time it doesn't really bother me because I know that it's better for BF and I to wait but I'll admit that sometimes I'm a little jealous.

Very cool! My aunt & grandparents still live in Wilmington so I'm there every now & then. Haven't been in a while though. I think I'm coming down in a couple weeks to get my hair done actually. I had the same hair dresser from when I was 10 until my parents moved to NJ about 2 years ago (so until I was 24ish).  I have tried so so hard to find a good, reasonably-priced stylist up here (North Jersey, just outside of NYC) but it is impossible! So I think I'm seriously going to drive 2 hours just to get my hair done LOL

I don't actually know anyone right now who is engaged---but I certainly know lots of women who are pregnant!

Most of BF's friends are getting engaged and many people I knew in college are engaged or just got married. But in my close group of friends I am the closest to marriage :)

I used to work at a bed bath and beyond before my job now, and I remembervalways hating summer time. I'd have to sit through making registry after registry with all the happy couples, all the while screaming to myself cause it felt like everyone was getting married but me.

I totally agree. I have 4 close friends engaged and getting married in the next year. I had two close friends get married in the last 3-4 months. When I see a lot of people younger than me getting married and starting families I wonder if I'm behind in some way. (I'm 27) Then I snap out of it and realize everyone does it on their own time.
BF bought the ring a little over two weeks ago so I think it's coming soon! :-)

The rush of engagements & weddings was last year for me.  This year has been all about the babies.  3 of the 6 people in our BP had babies in March...all boys, all born on Tuesday oddly enough. (and I'm definitely not envious of that situation yet, lol)

It was a little difficult seeing people get engaged before me, especially since FI and I had been together longer than some of them and had been discussing marriage for a while, but I think it worked out better that way.  When we finally did get engaged, it was kind of the perfect timing with having seen other's engagements, but still being far enough apart that people were excited still.

Last year was the year for engagements and this is the year for babies! So many of the people I graduated high school with and/or college with are married now with babies on the way or trying to get pregnant. It's fun though since I love babies and am enjoying having so many around! It's especially nice that I can play with them and give 'em back when they get cranky!

YES! It seems like everyone is getting engaged in the last few weeks/months! Although I can't complain because I'm one of them ;)
