    Working! haha

Here's a question for everyone today:
What would you have done differently about the wedding planning process knowing what you know now?

I would have been more firm in my desires to have a small wedding. (aka, only the people you see at Christmas, not everyone you've only met once in your life)

I would have dreamed more about what i wanted when i was little. hahaha I have had no clue as to what i want for this wedding. I am just kind of winging it. I also would have saved up before actually planning all this crap! I am trying to plan this thing on no money.

I would have 'not sweated the small stuff'.  There were things that annoyed me and that I tried to control throughout the whole process that I wish I would have just 'let go'.  And a spin off on that - don't waste your money on small, insignificant things.  And I know, I know...at the time, you want/need everything wedding related...the next day, literally, I looked at some of the stuff I had purchased throughout the year and was like WTF am I supposed to do with this stuff now.  It seems important, but there's a good way to save money...as great as details and intimate touches are, they're nice if they are few and far between.  No need to go overboard.

One more thing - I would have enjoyed our engagement longer.  We got engaged on a Wednesday night...the next day I was on the phone with venues (visited them that weekend) and posted pictures on FB...the whole nine.  I was super excited, but I wish I would have waited at least a week to let it all soak in and enjoy the time with my then FI.  I'll always regret that.

thanks for the honest feedback. good thoughts for those of us who are still over-planning.
  • Well, I'm about a 1 1/2 weeks away!!! Been a little too busy to keep up with the board, but at this point I have made the decision to not allow myself to take on anything else, no matter how cute or perfect it may be... and it's a huge relief actually. I'm just going to try to enjoy this ::hectic:: time and looking forward to enjoying my day.
