Needed: Expert Jeweler for FI's Ring

My FI's grandfather began working on making his wedding ring out of a silver coin before he passed away, and then FI's dad continued the process until it was finished.  The one problem is, the ring is a size or two too big for FI's finger.  Unfortunately, FI's dad wasn't as much of an expert ring-maker as his father was.  It's a beautiful ring, however, and I want to make sure it fits him just right.  I just moved to Kansas City, MO, and I'm unfamiliar with jewelers up here.  Are there any you would suggest for me to take the ring to to have it sized?  It's made entirely out of silver, so I don't want to take it into any shop.  I may need a specialty store, but I'm not sure how to begin searching/googling for that.

Re: Needed: Expert Jeweler for FI's Ring

  • There's a great jewelry store downtown called Goodden's.  They've been in business for 63 years and I've taken my jewelry to be resized.  They are reasonably priced and very friendly people.  Sounds like a lovely ring!!
  • My FH's uncle is a jeweler and oddly enough we met when he worked for him over 12 years ago.  He is north of the river.  Jewelers bench on north oak behind QT.  He and his wife have in the bussiness for a while.  His name is Mark.
