We are staying at the Outrigger Wikiki on the Beach. I've never been here but my uncle stays here every time he goes. He said it's reasonably priced for the area and is in a great location right on the beach. HTH!

I've heard the Outriggers are all good affordable hotels. We might stay in the Coconut Waikiki its rated #1 on trip advisor and set a few streets back from the beach (a 5 min walk away) so its quieter. A lot of the hotels on the beach the reviews say they are so nosy being on the main road and right on the beach.
If its in your budget, i've heard Hawaiin Village is amazing, I'm still toying with that one.
Re: Hawaii
Check out the O'ahu Revealed Guide - http://wizardpub.com for reviews of places - anywhere that gets the blue gem is a great bet.

We are going to Maui/BI/Oahu in October. We are staying at the Four Seaons on Maui, the Fairmont Orchid on the BI and the Royal Hawaiian on Oahu.
