Tipping Wedding Event Planner

I read one magazine where we tip 10-20%, another magazine says the event planner doesn't expect a tip.  And yet another says that anything less than $500 is insulting.  What are you supposed to do?  I'm paying the event planner $1500.  What is the gratuity on that?  OR is there one?

    If your planner, florist, photographer, etc. does a great job you should either tip them OR write them an amazing review on some of the review websites (yelp, wedding wire, project wedding).  I actually was told this by a wedding planner and I think it is a good idea.

    our venue has an 18% production fee added on top of the cost.  Are we supposed to then tip all the servers after?  what does that 18% go to?  (I know I should just ask the venue)  seems like tips are expected...and overly generous ones.
    wish I got tips at my work!

    Thank you Ladies.  Yes, I agree Smarchi.  My venue is the same way.  I was assuming the 18% was the tip.  Ha!
