  I disagree with your BM. Red shoes with your dress would be fine, as well as their white shoes. I actually like the idea.

  Some people are stuck in the idea that the bride should be in ALL white, no exceptions.  Don't listen to those people (I would say - unless it's your style, but since you want red shoes, obviously it isn't).  There is an overwhelming trend of brides working color back into their wardrobe with sashes, shoes, headpieces, etc.  Do what makes YOU happy.
  
  Also, I think white shoes would be cute with red dresses!  A coworker of mine was in a wedding where the BMs wore red dresses with white sashes...same principle, and they looked good.

  You are the bride so it really is your decision! If this is what you want then this is what you want! And in my opinion that will look ADORABLE and that is what a lot of people are doing these days- it's on trend. I am considering wearing colourful shoes with my white dress and I have already heard that my FMIL thinks that look is stupid but I'm still going to do it because I love the idea so much. (She didn't say that to me about me, it was about someone we saw on TV.)

  I am doing red shoes with my ivory dress too! I'm not claiming to be a fashion expert, or even fashionable, but I really like the idea of having a pop of color. Stick with what you want and enjoy it!
