Ceremony only site

I'm looking for a unique ceremony only venue for May 11th, 2013 for around 150-175 guests. We found a space we would like for the reception in the warehouse district in Minneapolis, but I don't want to deal with moving things around after the ceremony.  I'd like to stay under $1,000 and be within 5-10 minutes of the warehouse district.  Any ideas??

Re: Ceremony only site

  • Target Field? International Market Square? A park?

Just a thought, if you can't or don't find a place that's within walking distance of your reception, I would go a hair outside of that area -- I wouldn't want to make people pay for parking twice.

Let me just say that I sympathize with you! I'm trying to do the same thing for June 15, 2013. It's surprisingly difficult!

We're on the search right now. I'll certainly let you know if I find any good spots! Good luck!

  • I had a really tough time finding a ceremony site.  My reception and ceremony hall are 20-30 minutes away from each other.  I hope you have better luck than I did!

I live in the Warehouse district, and these places are all close by:

Father Hennepin Park (near St. Anthony Main)
    Boom Island Park
    Guthrie Theater
    Minneapolis Public Library
    Mill City Museum
    Weisman Museum
    U of M Alumni Center
    Millenium Hotel

...I am not positive if all of them allow ceremony-only, but at least a few of them do.
  • Hello new to the board haven't made any post but I am having my ceremony 4/14/13 at the Nazareth chapel on the campus of northwestern college. There is also the Bigelow chapel on the campus of United Theological seminary. Both really nice places and don't require you have a certain religion and you can provide your own minister. They are both located in Roseville but not far outside the cities. Range $800-$1000
