  • I've heard it's expensive, but that's not from personal experience.  A friend of mine had his wedding there in November 2011 and even in the off-season he said they still paid about $115pp.  I'm not sure if that price included taxes and any type of service charge.  I also forget when the wedding was, but I believe either a Friday night or a Saturday night.
  • Ouch....what happened to $80pp...where are those prices lol!!!!!!!

  • I looked and am hopefully booking at Grassy Hill Lodge in Derby.  their packages don't change by season or by day of the week, they set minimums instead.  so friday night/saturday/sunday you need minimum of 50 people, saturday night minimum of 100 people.  they don't have prices on their website but I have a menu with 2013 pricing from them.  I can PM you the info if you want?  It's extremely reasonable for what you are getting
  • yes please do....i am all over the place with what i want for a reception and ceremony at this point lol

  • I'm not sure what Woodwinds is now because we got 2011 pricing for our 2012 wedding because we booked in Dec/Jan 2011 and the 2012 menu hadn't come out yet.  When we were looking we wanted to keep it under $100/pp.  We chose the 2nd highest package (incl. open bar for 5 hours, wine on tables all night, cake, venetian table, more menu choices, bigger happy hour, and more) and it came to $104/pp after tax and gratuity.  Basically a lot of things we thought we were going to have to pay for were included in our package and we came in right where we wanted to.

  • you have a PM!  :-)
  • I'm getting married at Fantasia in North Haven. We have wine on the tables, chair covers, chocolate fountain, dry ice for the first dance, and cake all included plus a ton of food at cocktail hour for $85/pp after all taxes and gratuities!

  • We are having our reception at Anthony's in New Haven. It is the most beautiful venue we have toured and have heard nothing but great things about it. It is about $135 pp on a Saturday night (which we can't do since we are paying ourselves) but they told us if we have it on a Thursday night it will go down to $65pp. Yes it will inconvenience a few people but when you look at numbers you are saving thousands. You still get the same amount of food and same everything that you would if you were to go on a Saturday night. I highly suggest you look into that if you want to save a lot of money.

More like a lot of people. Expect guest to decline you invite.

Also, while you are counting the thousands you are saving remember all the people who took days off work and/or lost hourly wage for a middle of the week wedding should they decide to go.

We got married there in July of 2011 and could not of been any happier with the experience!

We also looked at other venues (including Anthony's--who told us one price, then when we came back told us another higher price and so many things that were extra we were going to be charged for).

Obviously, Saturday night weddings are more expensive, but they are really willing to work with you. We got an amazing deal, so many extras thrown in, things that were not other their menu added for no extra cost. I could go on & on---they are truly amazing! Talk to Domenic!!

I know they usually have special pricing for the Winter and/or Fridays ($75 pp) too. They recently added afternoon pricing too, Here is the link....

Like another person said, I would expect many not to come. Friday nights are hard enough, Thrusday is even worse. People may have to take off 2 days of work, which they may not be able to do or want to do.
  • Our wedding is only family members and close friends. Everyone's situation is different. We have discussed with the people who matter and they are fine with it, especially since we are planning a wedding that is not until 2014. Family members want us to save money. They understand. Plus if people want to be there they will be there no matter what day of the week it is on. The people who matter to us will be there. Like I said, everyone's situation is different and this happens to work for us.
  • They are having a bridal expo there next weekend. You might want to check that out to get a better feel for the place and test out their food before making a decision. I have been doing that, and it has been really helpful to see how the staff works for a big event, etc. Here is a link to info on the show http://www.cascade-banquets.com/ordereze/Content/11/PageDetails.aspx
  • They have a spewcial on thier websites front page!! I'm getting married there in May 2012, and were paying 69.12 per person, that includes tax. Its a thursday night, but that was the special anyways. They really have been wonderful to work with too!
