Great

H has pink eye. He's getting eye drops right now, but tell me how to avoid getting it. Am I going to have to sanitize everything in my house now?

  • Ew, sorry. I have been there, done that, but it was years ago.

I know if you touch something he touches and rub your eyes, you're screwed. So, make sure he isn't touching his eyes, and continually wash your hands (both of you).

  • Ditto PPs - and avoid touching your face big time.

Yeah, I'm kind of freaking out because he made dinner last night, which included rolling out dough and applying cheese. He did wash his hands, but I really don't need pinkeye. He's going to wash his pillowcases and the sheets when he gets home. I told him I'm not touching them! Hand sanitizer and Dial will be my best friend for a while.

  • Spray him down with Lysol and tie his hands! ;)

  • Wash all the bedding, wash your hands (both of you) constantly, increase the sanitizer usage, and absolutely don't touch your face.  You can avoid it if you're very careful.  The drops should help him become less/not contagious soon.

  • Make sure you are disinfecting the water faucets in your sink a lot. He has yucky hands, turns the water on to wash them, turns the water off and his hands are germy again (and yours will be too when you go to wash your hands). Use seperate hand towels too.

[QUOTE]sewf- You're probably fine with him cooking the other night, since most likely it was cooked which probably (hopefully...) killed the germs to pass on.  I would be more worried about a salad or other things that doesn't get cooked.

<div>Yeah, we had salad, too. I think he used tongs for most of it, but may have touched the carrots and croutons. I'm just going to cross my fingers, not touch my face, wash everything I can, and sanitize the crap out of this place. Thanks everyone!</div>

  • Don't let him rub his eye on you.  You're welcome.

I know, it sucks.  I was the Typhoid Mary around our house when I had pink eye.  But, H didn't get it, and it wasn't that difficult.  Just follow all the advice above and you'll be good.  Good luck.
  •  Put a roll of paper towels in your bath room for both of you to use. New pillowcases every morning.,  Lysol wipes by the bathroom  and kitchen sinks!
Also, new bath towels daily.  But, if you can both use paper towels for face and  hands it really helps!
