Booked!! Antigua here we come!

It's official! I have been stressing big about this over the last couple of weeks.

Short version:
We'll be headed to Antigua and staying at Cocos Hotel!!!
Gorgeous beaches, all-inclusive, our own private cottage I AM SO PUMPED!!  Plus Antigua sounds has like the perfect amount of stuff for us to do outside of the resort!

Any suggestions on places to go/things to do etc for Antigua?

We are going at the end of June for 7 days. We actually booked through Luxurylink.com.  They've got a lot of really good deals on some gorgeous hotels. It's also nice because the prices include A LOT including the taxes and fees.

The only thing was when we actually were ready to book our 1st couple of choices were already booked up. Part of that I'm sure is because Cocos is so small, but we did notice that if we checked Cocos site against what Luxurylink was telling us they'd have like opposite dates. So we're pretty sure that they set a certain number of rooms aside for LL. I guess what I'm saying is if you want to use LL, it's great but you may want to book earlier than later.

I will be sure to post a big long review when we go! When are you thinking of going? Are you set on Antigua or are you looking at other islands too?

  • Thank you for suggestions!  I have never tried this website, so will definately have to check it out.  we are planning to go some time December-March even though we are getting married end of July.  Even though it will be a delayed honeymoon i am sure we will have an amazing time.  if we had the funds we would want to go to French Polynesia, however, to me Antigua and their Providenciales beach seems just as beautiful! even though they do not have over water bungaloos, but they have All Inclusive option which i like a lot.  I am pretty set on Antigua especially Cocos hotel due to their privacy, but I think my FI would love a little more action.
What other options were you considering?
  • On Antigua the other places that we seriously considered were Cocobay and Keyonna Beach (which are both owned by the same people as Cocos) and Sugar Ridge.  Cocobay is pretty similar to Cocos but they have plunge pools :)

We were also looking at St. Lucia for a bit but we realized we can get a lot more bang for your buck at Antigua.

FI and I both are pretty spontaneous so we didn't want anything TOO secluded but definitely want our privacy. Antigua is nice because there's a good amount to do on the island, off the resort.

  • We loved Antigua! For things to do outside of your resort, we loved ziplining, and we also really really liked the Xtreme Circumnavigation tour through Adventure Antigua. We toured the island, went snorkeling, had lunch on an awesome deserted beach, and swam with sting rays. Loved it!
