So while I like my job, working in politics really isn't my thing so have started looking for a new job (but the employers don't know it "officially").  So am I crazy for trying to find a new job while planning a wedding that happens in 52 days?

    If it's exhausting you, then you may want to re-think the timing of the search.  However, if it's giving you energy ... go for it!!

    ETA: If you don't want your current employer to find out you're searching ... don't post your resume  and don't change your status on LinkedIn.  Oh, one more thing ... don't answer any blind ads.  Your employer may place one, to see if you'll bite.  Good luck!
