Who's your car and/or homeowner's insurance carrier? Rants or raves about them. We're thinking of shopping around and getting a new company. We pay $1500 every 6 months for 4 vehicles, 3 with full coverage insurance.

Holy eff, that's a lot of vehicles! I have farm bureau. No complaints, but it's just myself only. $104 for full coverage and a 25K life insurance policy.

I'm editing to say, $104 a month.

We have One Beacon, Mike likes it a lot.

But we pay 1500 a year for two cars soooo I am thinking it probably wouldn't save you much money.

I think him liking it is more he likes our individual insurance agent. I think that makes a big difference. We are in a law suit (Mike got hit from behind, we are suing) and our insurance agent has been a doll through the whole thing.

USAA for us. I think we pay $600/ 6 months for 2 vehicles, full coverage. Once we get a house we'll also go home owners through them. Dh has a term life through them (it randomly updated to another 7 year plan without us authorizing it, he's calling Friday to check and see what's up) as well.

I used to have Horace Mann (available to teachers/family) and I loved them. Our insurance agent was the friendliest guy ever.

Ditto USAA. I don't know the numbers since my FI takes care of the insurance, but I know we get an AWESOME rate.

I use state farm---one car, full coverage...about $400 a year. They've always been great.

FI has GEICO for his car. I'm almost positive he pays more than me.

My car is with 21st Century. I think they are owned by AIG now, but its http://www.21st.com Cheapest I could find, but still good service. They have a new car replacement policy that I had to take advantage of when someone totalled my 6 month old car and it rocked. They were also pretty good about getting heavy hail damage ($7.5K on a 2 year old honda civic) fixed, and helping to pressure the body shop to actually finish the repairs and give me my car back, but that is another story.

Our condo, my ring, and FI's car are with State Farm. He loves them. I don't think he has ever really had a claim with them, but they have a good reputation.

State Farm insurance for the cars. $1100. a year for full coverage on both cars and my motorcycle liability.

Best rates we could find in town. I had Allstate previously and was getting majorly ripped off.

rach - you can combine your car ins now and maybe save some $. I had no idea (guess I thought it was more like health ins) and we found out when we called a few weeks before the wedding.

I'm with State Farm - I've been with them since 1995, I think? Maybe 96. I am really satisfied with them, and was really glad DH used them, too.

I think I pay about $700 a year for my car with full coverage. DH has homeowners, a truck, the Miata, a touring motorcycle, a street-legal dirt bike, a regular dirt bike, an ATV, and a trailer, all with coverage (trailer has only collision I think). State Farm was the only company, if I remember what he said, that offered full coverage for the dirt bikes, and while he didn't have to have it, he wanted it. We're both accident-free and ticket free in the past 5-7 years, and have good driver discounts.

Haven't combined policies yet, but since we live together, I'm getting a multi-line discount already.

I had all state before famr bureau, and they do rip you off. My insurance dropped a shiitton when I swapped.

Farm Bureau for home. I used to have them for my car too, but it's really a hassle to talk to them, I can't do auto payments, I can't do AMEX, they can't take a payment over the phone, and their office isn't open when I can get there so that means I have to miss work to go in. I switched to Geico. They had the best rate, and I just needed to get through the next six months to get to the wedding, and then we'll combine policies.

FI has USAA and loves it.

I had progressive before. They were also supremely irritating to deal with after the initial purchase, but they were great when somebody they insured hit my car in college (I had other insurance). I also had Liberty Mutual for awhile, and they were really great to work with. Their rates just sucked when I moved here.

It's sooo much better.
For one car - 2002 Dodge Neon- I was paying $150/month with my old insurance. Switched to dh's and we pay the $100ish/month for a 2005 Pontiac Grand am and 2009 chevy cobalt.

They quoted us $500/month for a whole life insurance policy though...wow...

We have state farm, $94 a month for full coverage on two cars. We also have home owners through them, I think that's about $100 a month.

Love them. My agent rocks, I could call him at 3am if there was an emergency and he'd book it right over.

I have Mercury, but I know they aren't available everywhere. My car is having repairs done now and they've been great. Got me a rental, cut a check to the body shop, everything. FI and I are in the process of combining insurance and we'll probably just keep Mercury.
