Solaris Yacht Wedding - Sun Quest Cruises

I'm meeting with the planner Satruday for the Sun Quest Cruise in Sandestin to take a tour of the yacht, go over details, sign contract and pay deposit.  Anyone else using or have used this venue for their ceremony or reception? What was your experience with them?

    I was a guest on one, and it was fabulous! If our friends hadn't just done it we might have done it ourselves. The food was awesome. They used our DJ, and they were great too! They were actually the ones who recommended the cruise idea, with Solaris. 

    I highly recommend it! Keep us posted, on your decisions!

    Hello!  I have not been to the Solaris before but I was planning on also having my wedding reception there.  Any information that you might have on it would be greatly appreciated.  I live in Indiana and originally was going to book my reception at the Finz Restaurant at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. Well after I took the time and money to visit the location back In November their wedding coordinator just totally stopped communicating with me all together!  She claims she never got my voicemails and emails but I don't buy it.  Anyways, its 6 months till my wedding (October 8, 2011) and I now have to find a new place to have the reception.  I was interested in the Solaris but at this point I don't have the time to plan another visit to check it out.  It makes me a little nervous to book something that I haven't seen first hand which is why I am asking what your opinion was of it.  Any information you  might be able to relay would be GREATLY appreciated!!!! Laughing

    I have been planning to have a wedding at at Sandestin as well and trying to decide on a reception at either Finz or on the Solaris.  My fiance prefers the menu at Finz and is not crazy about the boat idea but I have found the people for the Solaris way more responsive to my questions.  I orginally contacted Sandestin in march and thier coordinater gave me some info (form message type thing)  then I emailed questions and never heard anything.  I wasn't too worried b/c I was planning on Sep 2012 for the wedding but then we decided we prefered a spring wedding.  Her unreponsiveness makes me a little nervous as I need to know pretty soon what needs to be done to reserve my date.  I have contacted her again today and will see what happens but after reading how many people here have said the same about her it makes me more than a little nervous.
