My fiance's mom and step dad said that they would take care of the catering for us because his stepdad is in the restaurant industry in Dallas and could probably get a good deal. Buuut my fiance is convinced that his mom is going to flake out and not do it. We've been engaged a month (getting married in September) and catering is one of the few big things I don't have sorted out at least a little. So far they haven't started looking and I don't want to bug them so soon after the holidays, but I don't want to wait too long and have everything that's cost effective be booked. So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on cheap-ish caterers (some kind of BBQ preferably) that I might look into as a back up plan if they do flake out.
