NWR - Hail?

I had no clue hail was even in the forecast until FI called to check on me and tell me his windshield was completely smashed. This Texas weather is so ridiculous. I hope everyone is okay and didn't get stuck out in it!

Re: NWR - Hail?

  • Apparently we had softball size hail in my 'hood.  Fortunately we weren't home, but the cars around here are not in good shape...

  • I didn't get hail, but driving home the rain was coming down so hard it sounded like hail pelting my car. Midway in N Dallas/W Plano was flooded almost. Then I hit the 121 area and it's sunny and dry. WTH

  • I was on my way to the Ballpark and got hit by some golfball sized. I thought it was going to break my windshield while I was driving. Then we got poured on at the game. It wasn't a fun evening.

  • We've had some crazy weather lately! Luckily it's mostly happened in my neck of the woods while I was home, asleep, and pretty much unaware.

AshJohnson30 -- H got a crack in his windshield driving to the airport to pick me up last week. Your thread just reminded me -- we're trading cars today so I can take it in to get it replaced. Sigh. Goodbye, $200!
  • Marie you know a lot of windshield repair places will come to your work and fix it so you don't have to go in?

Ugh! That's the worst part, having to spend money on something like that. I'm pretty sure FI's is going to cost the same. I'm just glad no one was hurt! According to him the hail pieces had spikes. yes he's silly enough to go out in a storm and grab a piece lol
  • We got SUPER lucky. We were smack dab in between both storms. And I am SO happy I left work early yesterday, otherwise my car would have been in the crosshairs. I don't think I would care as much except that our roof was just replaced last summer. Gotta love Texas storms.

I thought that was only for repairing, not replacing entirely. Shoot, I wish I'd known! Luckily it was only an hour, and I'd brought a bunch of my magazines with me I'd been wanting to read. That's something, anyway...
