How do you feel about the whole cake smashing thing? Do you plan on doing it?

No I think its absolutely horrid. Why spend all the money to buy a nice dress and have nice hair and makeup to get cake smushed on your and ruin it all?

Why would you waste cake???!!! I love sweets (its quite unhealthy how much I love them) FI and I agreed that we would not squash the cake. Also I would hate to get any on my dress or in my hair.

I hate it too! I don't like having my food on my face at all, so why would i want it at my wedding?! i don't think they are all that common in Canada.

I hate it. I have made it very clear to FI that if he smashes cake on my face (that I'm spending a good amount of money on making look good), he will be sleeping alone that night, wedding night or not. (Ok, maybe sleeping alone is a bit extreme but I would be PISSED.)

All I've got to say is he better not be smashing it in my face! I do NOT like the idea and think its stupid and pointless. I would hate for some of it to drop on my gown with ROYAL BLUE scrollwork icing!

I hate the cake smashing thing and so does FI. It seems far too aggressive for your wedding day! FI and I decided we will feed each other and have been practicing linking arms to have a sip of champagne after our cake bite. That's more our style than a cake smash.

I guess I'm going against the crowd on this one. We're doing it, I think it will be fun! Though I have a secret plan to smash and run, we'll see if I can manage it.

Ha, this is my thinking-- cake is delicious! I want that cake in my belly! Especially because I don't know any bride who says they get more of the cake than they are fed at the cake cutting, so I want to enjoy what I can get!

We haven't discussed it but if it happens, it happens. FI and I are easy going people and to me that's cute and fun, not aggressive. It's not like he's slapping you in the face. I'd rather not start my marriage off being mad at my new H just because he wanted to have a little fun and put cake on my face. It's one little piece. Now of he smashed the entire cake on me, that would be a different story.

Absolutely not. I think a little swipe of some icing on the nose can be cute, but FI and I both agree that we will NOT be smashing cake into each other's faces.

I cannot stand it. I know it is meant to be silly and fun, but, to me, it feels disrespectful. It isn't like when FI and I go out for ice cream, I smoosh the cone into his face. Why the heck would I do that on our wedding day? I'm also glad that FI isn't a fan either, so there's no chance of me wearing our cake.

Not doing it. Like other posters, I love cake too much. BUT I also think a little icing on the nose isn't horrible either. Just no smashing. Nothing that would guarantee spilling on my dress.

I told FI if he does it I willl divorce him on the spot. He thinks I'm bluffing and said the more I tell him not to the more he wants to do so. I tried to explain to him that it will get all over the floor and we have to clean up and then of course it will end up all over my white dress. My mom even said she was going to tell him he cant do it but I'm sure he will still try.

He really wanted to cake smash. So we came to a comprimise, we smashed cake at my bridal shower. If he wants he can put a little bt of icing on my nose..

No cake smashing for us. We are both neat freaks and do not want to risk going through the night with icing on our gown/tux. I don't really think shoving food in someone's face is cute or classy either...

FI saw it at a wedding and said, "That's bad luck." I don't think he'll be smashing it in my face, which is good for how much I am spending on my makeup. Personally I think to each their own, I'm not a fan of it.

I don't really care either way as long as we agree on what will be done. heck my fiance is so excited for the cake he may take the piece intended for me and eat it too lol
