Took FOCCUS Test and Couple to Couple (anyone done that?)

So finally got the results from our FOCCUS test and the end result is...we are pretty good to go :)  We got 100% on quite a few of the different parts, it was pretty funny.  The priest was impressed and said our communcation must be really good.  I felt great leaving the church with our results in hand.  We went over the areas where we disagreed and discussed it.  Usually the priest has couples meet individually seperatly with him, and because of our results we don't have to, unless we want too :)

The Couple to Couple question is an option that we have for marriage prep (instead of doing the weekend or marriage prep class) has anyone done this before?  What were your experiences?

    Is that where you meet 2-on-2 with a sponsor couple? If so, that's what we did and it was an absolutely wonderful experience.  We really loved the 2-on-2 setting; we got to know our sponsor couple really well and felt totally comfortable talking and sharing in that setting. We invited them to our wedding and are still really close with the husband (unfortunately, the wife has since passed). They were such great role models for us.

    I have only heard of the Couple to Couple option since being on this board. It wasn't offered to us and our priest required us to do the Engaged Encounter weekend, so that is what we did.

    I would have loved the Couple to Couple option, though. It sounds like you receive more personal and one on one attention. Our EE was with probably 30 other couples.

    I highly recommend a mentor couple as well!  In our parish, there are so many weddings that the priests and deacons are unable to meet individually with each couple as much as the mentor couples are able to.  We lucked out and got to meet with our deacon a bit more than the average couple because we had some sensitive family of origin issues that we talked over with him even before we got engaged.  Our mentor couple has provided valuable insight about praying with one another, keeping our marriage first, having children, raising children in the faith, etc.  Definitely go for it if you have the option!

    Just took our FOCCUS test Sunday. We will meet with our Deacon soon! I am excited. After just talking together it seems like we agree on a lot!

    Oh we just picked up our FOCCUS package, but have to wait until another sponsor couple get certified in the program--apparently there has been quite a run on them in our church recently! :) But I'm really looking forward to it, versus the EE, which we briefly considered for the "one and done" convenience. Nice to hear such positive feedback about the 2-on-2!

    We just took our FOCCUS yesterday, and I thought it was a great tool because it really got us talking. It was so funny though- while we were in the middle of taking it our priest walks in and tells us that sometimes couples have their first major fight after taking it because they find out what they disagree on. lol. A few minutes later an older married couple walked through the room we were in, leaned over to my FI and said, "Just put agree to everything!". Anyway, we're doing the couple to couple option because they didn't even offer us the other one...maybe they just don't have it where we're at.

    Hello~

    I am new to this board (regularly post on May board) I came over here to discuss ceremony music and saw this post... we took our FOCUS tool back in November and just began meeting with our sponsor couple a few weeks ago. I love the experience. They are a wonderful couple and oddly enough very similar to us. I find it so easy to talk them and open up about things, and at the same time it is bringing FI and I closer together.

    I wish you lots of joy as you go through this process, it is really nice
