Nail polish color on wedding day?

I am seriously considering doing a colored polish, like coral or red. I really am not crazy about the typical French mani it just seems boring?? Is anyone doing this? I have only seen French manis for brides ( well at least weddings I have actually been to)! Thank you!

I'm probably going to do a coral color too :) If not, OPI has a pretty light pink (not too light) called Hawaiian Orchid.

Not sure what color I am going to wear yet but I'm definitely not doing a french manicure....I love the pop of color it gives :)

I love the idea!  I was going to do a neutral shade of pink, but DH said he preferred the look of French.  So instead I put an insane shade of fuschia on my toes :)

When my best firend got married in November, she did a dark purple (almost brown).  LOVED the way that looked too!

    I say go for it!

I like hot pink, coral and reds. If you haven't tried shellac polish yet - do it! It's amazing. I'm getting shellac on my finger nails and toe nails before we leave here since it's so strong and lasts!

Ditto Tanq - I also wanted to do a light shade of pink, but FI preferred the look of French too.  I had super long nails, so admittedly, the French mani looked nice and still dramatic in the end.

I had champagne-colored peep-toe shoes with jewel embellishments, so I decided to stick with a French pedi.  It just looked more elegant.  Probably would've done a funky color, if I wore sandals or white shoes...or if I had short nails!

FWIW - I was also cautious about avoiding a color that might look out-dated one day.  I didn't want to look at photos with my kids/grandkids one day and wonder why I hadn't gone with something more timeless.

I just got shellac tutti fruitti on my toes and I freaking love it.  I have until tuesday to decide if I want french of the same color on my nails.  I would want french for the ceremony, but I would want color the rest of the time on vaca...so I'm completely torn.

Call my a cynic, but I think, no matter our best intentions to stay classy, that in 20 years time, our weddings will look out of date no matter what. Tongue out

I say this only because I'm wearing skinny jeans right now... and I made the mistake of doing this when they were trendy the first time! LOL! Five years from now, I know I'll be kicking myself (again).

I love that so many girls did the mullet in nail form... you know, business up front (fingers) but party in the back (toes). I did a more subtle colour on my fingers too... but that was more because I was convinced it would chip off.

you girls are so amazing!!! I LOVE Shellac, in fact I have a deep red color on now. Shellac does not offer too many colors but I really want to do Shellac, we will see. I own the OPI nail polish, hawaiian orchid. LOVE LOVE. OPI's coney island cotton candy ( or something like that)  is really nice too. I told my mom I wanted to wear a color on my fingers and she looked at me like I was nuts. Great advice in this thread, you girls are wonderful =)

I'm not a fan of the french look.  I'm getting red on both my nails and toes in shellac.
