Garter Toss

I am still up in the air about this, Although I bought an amazing NY Giants garter set I dont know if I want fi throwing something that's been on me for hours all sweaty into a group of our male friends

I don't really fit into anything. We are not doing it. I am not uncomfortable doing it and I don't hate the tradition. Both FI and I did it at our first weddings. The other thing is is that we are having a small wedding and there are only a few people who aren't married, (like 2) so there is no point.

You fit into the other button lol, I dont think there would be a question of doing it if there was only 2 single men I think thats the right choice.

I always feel like I'm in the minority when the subject of garter tosses comes up, because I'm doing one, unapologetically, and am not at all uncomfortable with it. I find them entertaining, and I think most of our guests are of the same mindset. My own opinions aside, the toss is a must in my FI's opinion. He has caught the garter at four separate weddings, one less than a month before we got engaged, and it's kind of become his thing. He sees doing the toss at our wedding as symbolic of his 'retirement' from the 'sport' of garter catching, LOL.

My only advice for anyone doing the garter/bouquet toss is to do the garter toss BEFORE the bouquet toss. I have seen some aweful things happen when it was the other way around.

We're doing it. I bought a Green Bay Packers garter set, so FI won't actually be throwing the one I've been wearing.

I too am doing it....and excited for it! I did get a separate garter for FI to toss though and not my pretty nice one. I always like this part of weddings and around here all the little kids join in and most of the time its the 3 year old who catches it and its just cute!

Oh goodness.... I never honestly thought about my garter being sweaty & such.... now I'm nervous about it! lol Maybe I'll have someone spray some febreeze that way before JUST KIDDING!!

FI was really excited about the garter toss so we are doing one. My mom and one of my bridesmaids picked out a garter for me as a gift (I'm supposed to pretend to be surprised) and they are giving it to me at my shower. I so hope they didn't pick out something weird or tacky and I hope there's one for tossing and one for keeping.

Is it wrong to do a garder toss and NOT a bouquet toss?

We are definitely doing it! We have a bunch of fun, crazy friends who I think would be disappointed if they didn't get the chance for the garter.

Since we have more family than friends coming, I'm hesistant to do it traditionally. I think what will happen is I'll have the ladies stand behind me and the guys stand behind FI, and we'll throw our tossable items at the same time.

I found this fun idea of wrapping the garter around a football, so my FI is going to toss that. It helps that the entire wedding is outside with a large field.

we are also gonna do that! i think its fun! with all the football team garters people are getting they should consider it! i dont know if i wanna get a football team garter or not but i think i might cause it makes more sense if i do!

i will probably be very uncomfortable with fi taking the garter off in front of my family and friends but i get embarrassed easily and i dont like being the center of attention! but i still think its a fun tradition and want to do it!

Wow I dident even think of men not wanting to catch it because the girl that caught the bouqet thats horrible !

I am not sure where the packers one came from buy my ny giants one came from etsy im sure they have packers ones

I'm doing it. FI and I are pretty traditional...besides...

I picked up cycling this year and have been going at least 25miles/ride...I'm going to show off these legs gosh darn-it! :P
