Centerpiece help

I have been having a really hard time figuring out what we're going to do for our centerpieces.  I think I would like to do something like this:

(lace-wrapped candles in varying sizes)

but I don't know what if anything to add.  My mom suggested rose petals on the table, but I'm not really sure.  Would white pumpkins be too much with this?

Re: Centerpiece help

  • What are the colors of your wedding?  If you are doing an all white wedding then the white pumpkins might look ok, but I think you need a touch of color.

Cream, gold, copper, a little maroon.  BM dresses are brown.

  • Oh I love that look! But I agree that it needs a little something more and that color would help. I am doing luminaries on the table with tin cans and pine cones spread around with votives. Maybe you could find something that fits the theme/feel?

We are using bittersweet for the boutonnieres, maybe incorporating that onto the table with the candles???  Or am I totally crazy :)

  • what about some ribbon near the top in one of your colours? I think petals would also be really pretty.

  • What about doing the smaller votive candle holders in gold?  I'm not sure if I would add a whole lot extra because the vases are so pretty as they are.  And if you get the containers wide enough where they take up a good area in the center of the table, you won't need to do a lot more.

  • You could always get those flattened glass marble thing, (I really have no idea what they are called), and spread those around the table for some color.

  • I would not do whiite pumpkins, but add a splash of color on the linen - use a table runner -  you can rent them for around $5 a table or buy them online for like $2 bucks thru a wholesale company. Love Love Love the candle idea - we were going to do something similiar with hurricanes but ended up finding tall mercury glass pilars that I'm doing carnation balls on top of!

Thanks for all of the ideas!!!  I like ribbon idea a lot--I will try that. We are using napkins that the venue provides, so any linens would have to match that.  I'll ask them about runners.
