anxious!

I'm getting super antsy to hear from the recruiter for FI to fill out more paperwork! I just wish he'd call but I know these things take time. I'm just super excited for him!

How's everyone doing?

Ugh, I feel you on the anxiousness... I am also waiting for FI to hear that he's in already! We should know this month, according to the recruiter.

    Congrats Kendall! That's great.

It does take time. When H was commissioning it took a YEAR. Not kidding.
    A. Full. Year.

Today is swell. :] I don't have classes on Wednesdays (no wed classes in the upper division math department) so I'm baking pumpkin spice cookies for H's return, a pork roast in the crock pot, and cleaning the house while doing some DIY stuff :) Good, girly, lazy day. (well.. lazy for me... spending the day around the house is what I call lazy, even if I'm deep cleaning)

I know me too! and I'm trying to diet. HA. I'm going to do the baking and make baskets and gifts out of everything I make and bring them to work and give them out to family members. I might have a cookie or two though ;)

I'm currently baking broccoli & cheese cornbread, and have baked potato soup in the crockpot!!  I'm also making cupcakes for my mom to take to work in the morning, and Banana Nut Whole Wheat muffins for my ladies at work in the morning. (I have the batter poured and waiting to pull the cornbread out of the oven).  Oh! and I'm doing homework.  Talk about Multi-tasking!!

I got the most new members at work for the last 2 months, and so far I'm ahead for this month!

    I'm pretty much a winner!!

OP-Just relax, everything happens for a reason!

<div>FI has been trying to get his packet in since ...April. He <em>might </em>have time to do his interviews this week while he is at training, he has the interviews all set up...but I'm not couning on it, he has had them "All set up" for the past few months. In April all he had to do was take the test and get the interviews and you see how long that has taken...</div><div>
</div><div>I think waiting after it gets turned in will be even worse because I would rather him go to OCS than go on long cruise next year. </div>

Yeah-I'm in the waiting game too. It is teh suck. FI turned his flight stuff in this week, so I think it'll be good to not have that around all the time. I've got the patches and stuff he bought packed away. It's sorta weird because we don't want to make any plans beyond Thanksgiving yet because who knows where we'll be, but at the same time I'd rather have to pack and move than have him processed out by a very very large margin.

I'm cooking a lot, and applying for seasonal work. It helps.

OP, we've been waiting for about 6 months or more now. He is going into the Army through a dental scholarship, or whatever it's called, which is probably why it's taking so long. He missed the mark for a 4 yr scholarship, but hopefully we can get him into a 3 yr with a 4 yr commitment.

    Yay flight stuff!
What does he want to fly? H scored the best out of his group but still didn't get the plane he wanted because it's all about needs of the Navy (or AF, or Marines, or Army)

FTL- Sorry, that came out wrong. I meant that he had been issued a bunch of flight stuff (flight suits/ bag/sunglasses) and since he washed out of IFS he went and turned it in. It's pretty unlikely that he'll ever fly now. They don't give do-overs, you know. Which sucks, because he really wanted to be a CSO. It also isn't great since he had hoped to be career AF, but without flying/commanding that makes promotions pretty difficult. So now he's awaiting reassignment. So it's all about the needs of the Air Force, he's hoping for, gah, I forget what it's called, but basically they create and test the new planes and drones. He's got a good shot, did great on all his tests, and has a good degree (applied mathematics), so we're staying positive.

awww :( sad. Yeah pilot/nfo stuff is tough stuff... H has told me stories of guys that have made it to the very last day and then get sent packing :(
He wanted to go to TPS (test pilot school) is sounds like what you are talking about. That's up in Maryland. We want that as our next duty station although it's REEALLLY HARD to get, even if you are top of your class... But you also can't go there right out of flight school, you have to have been at a squadron at least once to get your rating as a pilot...
Applied math will look good. (that's my degree)
H has an aerospace engineering degree from Georgia Tech so we are hoping *fingers crossed* that they need to TPs come next year.
