Ghetto Favor Idea... Please be honest

I have been racking my brain trying to determine a unique  yet inexpensive wedding favor to provide my guests.  So I just had a wonderul (some may consider ghetto idea) to provide them with mini bottles of Franks Red Hot sauce.  I am a hot sauce LOVER and eat it on everything.  I think its fun (and affordable.)  I am interested in learning others thoughts on this.   Thanks in advance!

Hello MrsBrown2Be - just chiming in here as an old skool knottie (although my event isn't until next year or so)...n-e-wayyyys, perhaps you can attach your or FI's favorite recipe tag to the bottles of hot sauce to tie it into your color scheme as well provide your guests a logical reason as to why they are getting hot sauce as a favor...oh and maybe, if you hadn't already thought of this, include this particular recipe/dish as one of the items you serve during the reception...JMO...HTH!  Laughing

Sounds good. I am giving out $1 scratch off tickets and candy. Seems a bit ghetto but fun. Who wouldn't like to win some money?

I don't think its ghetto, but it depends on the type of guests you're having. I also agree with alfdallas - I say go for it!

It's not ghetto as long as it has something to do with your theme. As a guest if your theme was soul loving/ or some kind of African American soul food theme, I would get it and love the idea. But if your theme is butterflies, or hearts then I would wonder what the heck that bottle of hot sauce has to do with your wedding.

I just went to an Engagement Party where the favors were little bottles of Hot Sauce made in Louisiana (where they are both from).  They personalized the labels with  their names and a little saying printed on a tag attached to the bottle.

The labels said Jane and John
    March 19, 2011

    My bottle tag said:
Our love is HOT, HOT, HOT!

    My Beloved's bottle  tag said:
LOVE is the Spice of Life! Thanks for Joining our Celebration.

I think the idea is TOO CUTE!Laughing
