My fiance and I just received our first wedding gift in the mail!! My question is: do we open it now, or are we supposed to wait until after we get married (July 6th)?

    Because *god forbid* the wedding doesn't happen,  you need to be able to return it in pristine condition. Opening it now is just to make sure it wasn't broken in transit, etc.

    If you're comfortable with the replacement cost, you can probably use it, in all honesty. It's just something to keep in mind.

    For the most part I agree about waiting to open BUT FI and I are opening our coffee maker if we receive it this weekend because ours broke and it has been so miserable waiting for our new one! If we weren't getting married we would have replaced it asap.

    I don't see the point in waiting until after the wedding to use things you get before.  I know Fi plans to open and use ours. My wedding will not be a Kim Kardashian event.  LOL.

    I like the idea of waiting just for the suspense of it all, but I don't think I will.
