Getting in Shape

Sometimes I wonder why I bother..

I am just going to complain for a minute. You've been warned!

I have been working my butt off doing 30DS since October, doing levels one and two every other day and then starting around Thanksgiving I started doing level three everyday, and when I finished it the first time (beginning of Dec) I started it over again, still everyday.

So it's been a good while now, that I have been shredding, and I am just not seeing the results I wanted to, or even any results at all! When I didn't lose a lot of weight/inches the first time, I thought it was because I wasn't doing it everyday. Now that I have been doing it everyday, and I'm STILL not seeing results, I am getting more frustrated and wondering why I am putting all this effort into something that is not working.

I am going dress shopping in a little over a week (eek!), and I just thought I would be more shredded by now. What have other people's results with 30DS been?

Maybe you're not eating enough. Sometimes the plateaus are due to not having enough fuel to help you burn. It sound counter productive but could be the case. You still have time to get to your goal don't give up. YOU CAN DO IT!  Good luck. You've gotten a lot closer.. You can do it!

I had great results with it despite feeling like I was going to die during the first few days of each level.  It's definitely helped me slim down, get healthier, and i can tell I'm stronger.

I wonder if you're tracking calories/watching what you eat.

Also, I've always been confused as to why 30DS is ok to do daily with no rest days.  Maybe you need some recovery time.

What kind of foods are you eating? Are you tracking calories?

Most of the work is done in the kitchen. So if you're busting your butt doing the workouts but not feeding your body properly, you will not get the best results.

I've been doing Weight Watchers for almost a year now. I eat to my daily target everyday, so I don't think the problem is on the calorie side. And I've had the same results doing it every other day and everyday, so I don't think it's about frequency.

I'm still losing weight, about a pound a week. I was just expecting to either lose more weight or more inches, but since I started nothing has changed: still a pound a week, still losing the same amount of inches as before I started shredding.

I can tell my endurance is better, I am able to do more push ups, etc, but I am just frustrated with the lack of change in my body.

Ok...but you're losing.  I don't see the problem.  You said yourself you're seeing changes in your strength and endurance.  THAT'S why you bother.  You're not plateaued, you're not gaining, you're seeing gains in strength and endurance.

I know it's frustrating to not see changes in your body as fast as you'd like, but you didn't gain it in a month, it's not going to go away in a month.  You ARE seeing changes, and unfortunately, I think you're focusing on the wrong ones.

Yep.  80% diet, 20% exercise.  My weakness isn't working out, it's the kitchen.  I get more results when I eat less crap.

Like J&K said, it is working. I would say a pound a week is still really good at your weight. The less you weigh, the less weight you tend to lose in a week. Keep up the good work. It will come.

I know that there was a time this summer that I didn't lose any weight, but I lost like 5 inches. Make sure you measure enough areas to really show what is happening with your body (arms, chest, waist, hips, thigh, calf).

    Keep up the good work!

</div><div>Everyone is right, I know it's working...I just get it in my head sometimes that things will work out FANTASTICALLY and also IMMEDIATELY, so I thought when I started 30DS I would drop two sizes and 30 pounds in a month. </div><div>
</div><div>I also think every time I go on job interview I will be offered the job before I leave <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /></div><div>

1lbs a weeks is awesome!!! You're doing it right. Loose the weight slowly and its more likely to stay off because your changing your lifestyle. Keep at it, I know it is frustrating but you're doing really well.

A pound a week is still great. And I hate to sound rude, but if 30DS is the only workout you're doing, and it's what - 20 minutes a day? I mean that isn't much exercise at all - certainly not enough to drop more pounds a week.
