They want what?!?!

So Ive been looking into The Venetian Lady Yacht for our reception.....I looked over the prices and I am not too happy that my guest list will only have to be 90 people and the charge $3,200 for the rental of the boat plut $100 an hour for fuel charge plus a dockage fee of $350....This is not food and drink its just to get on the darn boat!!! If we want more than 100 people we would have to pick The Byscayne Lady and that would be about $1200 more.........Do you girls think this is worth it????  I am starting to doubt this will be my venue, Fi says he can swing it but why waste this money???

I don't really know what this is, but if this is your dream and you can pay for it then do it. But if you have too cut too many important people out then don't, cause really thats what this whole thing is about, sharing the beggining of your life with your soulmate with the people you care about most.

^^I agree with them, but I also understand where you're coming from.  When they sent me their prices, I was in disbelief.  Why wouldn't the rental of the boat cover docking and fuel?  The other venues I checked out weren't charging me for electricity and water, right? :)

I agree with Moonstar...and i work in air charter (so its not boats) but i totally get the fuel cost...when fuel goes up sometimes they ahve to add more to the price to not lose money on it...ppl would be surprised how expensive it is to run a charter company...not sure about the boats but if its anything like the planes it cost alot to do so they will charge alot...not sure about the dock fee if ur ganna dock somewhere other then where they are usually docked they might charge you for that  but if ur leaving out of thier usual spot i would question that fee...

just do what makes you happy... :) you still got a while to decide....it took me forever to decide on a place ...i changed it like every month! LOL
  • We thought it would be cool to have our rehearsal on one of these yacht, until they said the price.  If you have 90 people, that adds $46 for just the venue.  You will have to decide if it worth the extra expense.  Add it to the food/drinks and see what other venue might be comparable.  That would be a good way to see if it's worth it.

I was actually looking into using a yacht for my reception as well.  It would have been my venue but my parents were afraid that not that many people may show up because of fear of open waters.  I had looked into using the Musette I and II.  The owner is very kind and very willing to work with your budget and I was amazed at how low she was willing to drop the price... (which was actually 30 less than the quoted estimate per person).  You should consider them as it is a full venue like a banquet hall with food and everything but just on the water.  I had an estimate of 100 people as well.

If you want the price I was quoted just PM me.
