A few questions for y'all

Hello ladies! I'm bored tonight since we never get trick-or-treaters out here in the country, so I thought I could stir up some conversation on this board. I'm in a "I want to be anywhere but here" mood tonight, and since travelling is one of my favorite things to do, I came up with a few questions if you want to play:

1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

2. Where would your dream vacation home be?

3.  Favorite place for a weekend getaway?

    1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I don't have a particular city, but I want to live on/by the water (preferably the beach). And I'm 95% sure I want to stay in the South.

    2. Where would your dream vacation home be? my top choice would be a villa in Tuscany... a girl can dream, right?

    3.  Favorite place for a weekend getaway? I love weekends in New Orleans, but I can only do that every so often. Lately, I want to spend a weekend in the mountains with FI... maybe that'll happen one day!

    1. Germany

    2. San Diego! yessss :]

    3. Since we're in Washington, I suppose I would say the San Juan Islands...They are incredible for a comfortable getaway. If not there, than any place around here to backpack. Such a great thing to do with just H :)

Melbelle, I request new questions. These are too tough....AND they make me wish I wasn't in this crumb ball apartment.

    Ok lemme see.

    1) I would live in New England, with a big backyard and a porch and maple trees. And I would drink my coffee out on said porch every morning. Sigh.

    2) Oh man, based on our HM, I think my dream vaca is more time in Venice with another jaunt down to the Greek Islands. With lots of wine and sunshine and blue water and wine. And leather goods. I didn't buy enough stuff when I was there.

    3) Weekend getaway for SURE is back to the Blueridge Parkway in the Shenandoah Valley. H and I took his car out last fall and drove all day then went to a vineyard and stayed in a sweet B&B with an amazing breakfast.

Hehe I'm too lazy! Now I just really need a porch though. Truly, if you can make it to the Mediterranean, you should. We were there for 12 days and everywhere was spectacular.

    1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Charleston or Gulf Shores.  In a big old house with at LEAST a wrap around porch and one on a second or third floor.  With lots of hard wood floors, porch furniture, fans on said porch, a HUGE kitchen, Oh! it has to have shutters!!, probably a white house.  Exposed beams, and lots of big windows!   I would be a contractors nightmare!!

    2. Where would your dream vacation home be?
I want a log cabin in the mountains.  I love cabins, and I love the fall leaves especially on the Parkway.  If I could only afford a cabin in Asheville, NC.. I would be soo happy!

    3.  Favorite place for a weekend getaway?
Hubby and haven't really been able to do weekend getaways, plus I usually just try to veg out,  when he gets home, I'll only be able to live with him Thursday-Sunday, so I guess our house will be my favorite weekend getaway!! haha

Sami, why will you only be able to live together Thursday-Sunday? If you've talked about this before, sorry I just don't remember (and I'm a little bit nosy). I love Gulf Shores/Orange Beach though. There's one house on the beach down there that is my absolute FAVORITE. It looks like an honest-to-goodness real life dollhouse!

    1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?  Oh god so many choices, probably on a beach somewhere. I do like Charleston. But I also like the idea of other countries, Italy anyone??

    2. Where would your dream vacation home be? Can I have several haha? This would be a beach, any beach, I can't think right now. (thanks wine)

    3.  Favorite place for a weekend getaway? We like to go different places now that we are together and near some cool places. I enjoy Savannah, Charleston was fun, Charlotte is just amazing.

    1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Either France or Greece. France is beautiful, especially the south. But Paris is pretty sweet, and I know a family there. Plus, I took French for 10+ years. I'm not fluent, but I'm sure I'd pick it back up after living there for a while. I haven't been to Greece yet, but it looks beautiful and the culture seems cool. My FI plan on spendin 2-3 weeks there for our honeymoon! 2. Where would your dream vacation home be? Oh gosh, I don't know! Pretty much anywhere in Europe. Or Asia. Ahh I dunno! I just want to travel everywhere! 3.  Favorite place for a weekend getaway? My FI's family cabin. I love getting out on the water for tubing, jetskiing, and fishing. And eating good food, drinking around the fire, playing cards...it's just nice and feels like home!

    1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I love living here in Savannah.  If I had to move somewhere else, It would be the mountains.  Athens, GA and Dahlonega, GA would be my top two spots.  After that, somewhere in Hill Country, TX

    2. Where would your dream vacation home be? My 2 biggest dream vacations are a castle tour of Ireland and a trip to Tahiti.

    3.  Favorite place for a weekend getaway?  Camping anywhere or heading up to the mountains.

    1. This is so tough, but I've always missed living in SoCal. Perfect weather all the time and I loved having so many things to do that are close by.

    2. Either somewhere beachy like Bora Bora/Tahiti or a house in Santorini. H and I have been wanting to go to Greece!

    3. We don't have one for here in VA yet, but I would say for now my sisters' in Jersey. We should be going there this upcoming weekend. lol But anywhere with a casino would be a good weekend getaway for us. We love gambling. Hehe

I posted it before, but its really bad PERSEC, soooo I will be vague here and send you a PM! haha...
He's trying to lat move and he'll have to train a lot to get ready, and then if/when he gets the go ahead, he has to actually live in the barracks, sooo.. I'm not moving full time until he's done (either gets approved, or not) because I don't want to move there (Jacksonville, NC area.. we don't really want to live near the base) and then be alone all the time.  Plus, I wanted to get in another semester at school, and I didn't want to leave my job here, to not be able to find one there.

Annnd Gulf Shores/Orange Beach is probably my favorite place on earth!! I Love it soooo much there!!

Sami - you got a PM back! And also, I don't blame you for not wanting to live in the Jacksonville area around base. I've never been there, and although FI says it's better than where he's stationed (Cherry Point, NC), he wouldn't want to live there either!

Doing this reminded me of the old myspace days where my friends would post those long bulletin quizzes. LOL

    1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Under the sea. With all the dolphins and fishies.
No that would get old after a while though, so honestly, I want to retire young in the country with a farmhouse and breed horses and golden retrievers.

    2. Where would your dream vacation home be?
    Number 1? Lol

    3.  Favorite place for a weekend getaway?
Orlando. John and I have disney passes so we have tons of fun there.
