**Sheaday**

Totally realized we were changing the topic to her engagement pics question! Oops!

In response to your last post --Oh really!!! We have venue's in common too. Well... kinda--- we are getting married at the sister site in New Braunfels-- Boulder Springs. It will be interesting to see how yours come out. They changed the walls in Boulder Springs-- and put up some nice white stone on the sides, so that it is not all wood. We considered TOT too, but San Antonio is where he lives, and I am in Houston for school. So I am using Austin Vendors mostly.. haha... gotta spread the wedding love all around. Who is your DJ?? Cake? And are you using a day of??

Rachel

Oops! Good idea to start this post.

They did tell me about their new venue, I'm interested to see how it looks in comparison with the white walls! For our DJ we're using Ultimate Sound and Photography- they're the recommended DJ for TOT. The halls there are pre-wired with all of Ultimate Sound's equipment- so they basically just show up and turn on the music-no setup required or worrying about not having the right cords etc etc. That gave me peace of mind so we went ahead and booked them (their price is amazingly low for a DJ because they don't have to haul the equipment around and everything).

Cake- Using Cakes by Kathy. She did 2 of my friend's weddings and it was SO GOOD. I've tried alot of cakes at the bridal extravaganzas and shows over the past year and hands down her cakes were the best and very affordable.

Day of Coordinator is Crystal with Crystal Occassions out of Cedar Park- she has an advertisment here on the Knot so that's how I found her. She was running a special at the time I found her so I got a great deal and she's super friendly and very professional. I didn't want to spend $1000 on a DOC and she is WELL below that, check out her website- http://www.crystaloccasionsevents.com/
She is charging a travel fee to go from Cedar Park to Kyle, but it's not that much. I was worried about not paying for an expensive DOC who had years of experience but I follow her page on Facebook so I can see what weddings she's doing and her brides are always happy with her and leave great comments.

I'm originally from Houston but have been in Austin for about 3yrs now, are you from there too?

I have pics of the new venue if you want to send me your email address. I took my camera when I was there booking it. It also gives me a better way to coordinate colors. :)

We went with Altared Weddings for a DJ because Boulder Springs lets us bring in who we want. I have only heard a few things about him, but they seem to be getting good reviews.

Our cake is ordered from Pleasonton, which is kinda far.. but they have a yummy champange cake that I loved. Houston is having a bridal extravaganza this weekend. I am thinking of going for ideas and...well... cake!! hahaha

We have an appt in Austin with the DOC Rachel that everyone talks about on the 17th, but I think I will call yours too. Is it closer to about $500?

What about catering? We have a tasting with Chef Steve in Austin on the 17th with Southern Fine Dining Catering.. or something like that. His food looks yummy.. but we shall see. My fiancee thinks it may be too posh. LOL

I am from the Sugar Land area. I went to high school out here, and then spent 8 years in the Army. Now I am back for school. Where did you live?
