With black & white you could do just about any color uplighting. What is your theme? What feel are you going for? What's the venue & time of year? These should help narrow it down. The person providing your uplighting should be able to help you too.

I'm doing purple, but that's one of the colors in the wedding. Are you doing any other colors besides black & white? Maybe another color from your bouqet or flower arrangements?  Even white would be pretty! Uplighting looks so neat though.

Most vendors that do uplighting do it with LED lights.  LED uses additive color mixing, so if they mix all the colors it goes to white!  We've done several weddings where the uplights were actually white and can look really nice in a dark room.  If you look really close you can tell that it's a lot of colors mixed together, but when you walk in the room, none of your guests will notice.

    Good Luck,

My wedding is in my parents backyard and and our colors are black and white too.  I had the same issue and so we ended up choosing some accent colors that were cool and that would give a little pop of color but still make black and white the focuse.

We are doing all candle light and soft white and mauve lighting for the ceremony and then durring the reception we are planning to add some of our accent colors, purple and a teal.
