Oh it is so good to be back home ! Vacations are awesome but being able to sleep in my own bed is so much better lol
I spent a week at Ft. Sill Oklahoma visitng FI's brother who is stationed at the army base there. The weather was awesome while we were there and spent alot of time getting to know my FBIL and his wife and enjoying relaxing , drinking and lots of talks various things. FI's dad arrived on Wednesday and we spent more time partying , drinking ( seeing a trend here ? lol) , and playing drunken Uno - which I cannot say how amazingly awesome that was. This was the first time my FFIL had seen me drunk and he thought it was rather amusing , same with seeing FI drunk , so it made for some great stories and pics and videos.
The most memorable time yet at the same time depressing and sad was visitng the Oklahoma City Bombing memorial - it's been 15 years , and I can still feel the shock of seeing it all on TV like it was yesterday. Walking through those halls , seeing up close and personal the aftermath , the items recovered , watching the interviews , and seeing the devastation and destruction , was truly moving. FI held me so tightly and close as we walked through it together listening to the testimonials from the victims , survirors , parents - just thinking about it now brings me to tears all over again. They even had a room basically as it was in the bulilding and to know that people survived from it..is truly shcoking and inspiring. I highly recommened if anyone is ever in the area to go see it..it's worth the tears.
Near the army pst we were staying at is a wildlife refuge with longhorns , bison , prarie dogs and other wildlife. Got some awesome pics of some bison up close and one funny story was that FBIL hopped out of his truck to get a close up pic of a bison that was crossing the road behind us , as he was getting out the bison started trotting towards him , picking up speed , so he jumped back in the car so fast just yelling "omg oh sh!t , F*ck that was close" lol , we all just laughed at him as we drove past. Was pretty awesome.
We got back Sunday night and Monay afternoon we went down to our venue and put down our deposit , the date is officially ours. May 15th 2011 is coming faster than it seems , lol. Also our anniversary is May 20th , so wracking my brain for ideas for something special , so it's been a busy month but it's been filled with some great memories and more to come.
