We finally made a decision!

Ok so we're gonna have a small simple ceremony in the park followed by a small reception at Ruth Chris steakhouse. And a BBQ the next day for the rest of our family and friends. We decided against a big wedding and reception and spending a lot of money. We wanna buy a house!

I know some people are gonna have some crap to say.

Is this a good idea? Or a we crazy.

    I think it is a very WISE decision.  It took the BOTH of you to sit down and make a decision about your future and that's what is most important.  It's still your DAY whether it be BIG or SMALL...

    Girl sounds good to me. Hype up the BBQ to everyone so they wont even worry about the ceremony.

    We decided to have a intimate cermony and a cocktail reception, cake and drinks. That's it! No sit down dinner, no videographer, no bells and whistles. At the end of they day you will be married and will have saved a ton of money. Congrats on the house too!

    GOOD IDEA. It's an INVESTMENT. the extravagant wedding won't bring any return on the future like a house will. Plus, just think of all the memories you'll create in something you can call "ours".

    I think it sounds great!!!!  A wedding in the park is still beautiful.  I'm  having a dinner with close family and close friends at a restaurant on the lake where he proposed after our destination wedding.  They have a room reserved for events such as ours and it doesn't cost you anything extra and they will let me bring in centerpieces.  Do you!!! It will be beautiful because it is something you two decided together and are in love........What makes a wedding truly beautiful to me is when you see how much the two people truly love each other and want to be committed to each other.  Embrace your decision and remember that he will say you are beautiful no matter what...

    Well if they have so much to say....Put ya hand out and tell them "Put something in my hand to pay for the wedding baby! Great choice! I completely understand what you are going through!!

    I swear weddings, baby showers and funerals bring out the worst in our people sha! The choice that you and your FI made is what suits you all best!! Congrats on saving on the house!!

    Thats a great decision! Sometimes I wish we could go smaller,. but its a little late for that. We already have a house, so that wasn't a concern. Also, we're getting married in November and January is tax time, so the savings can be replenished easily then.

    FI would love to have a BBQ.

    I think its a fantastic Idea.  We are doing a mid week, mid day brunch girl  and the bbq AT the house that we will have the money to buy for the 1st anniversarry next year.  FI has been telling people we not even having any type of reception this year, just a ceremony.  35 people thas it

    You are setting up to BUILD A LIFE not have a one day party leaving you in gobs of depressing marriage tearing debt.   You and the Mr are right on point.  do what is right for your marriage and your family and you HOUSE hold.

    I support 100%

    *not to take away from the big weddingers....if I had help, I'd have gone that route...lol*
